We couldn't help but notice the creativity of Entropia Universe participants recently so we thought we should encourage this and try to do something fun with it.

We've decided to start the Entropia Universe Video Competition. This will be a long running competition based on participant created videos from the Entropia Universe.

Place the videos up on YouTube and every three months we'll have a look to see which video has had the most Views. The creator of the video with the most Views will receive a Unique Item. The topic for the first round of this competition is quite simply 'fun'. Our Community Director will have a first look on March 1, 2007.

A few simple rules:

• Begin the title of your video with 'Entropia Universe01:' and then your own title. This makes it easier for our Community Director to quickly find the videos. An example would be: Entropia Universe01: Rumblings in New Oxford.
• Include your Avatar name either in the 'From' field, or if that's not possible, in the description. We'll need to identify the avatar in order to award the Unique Item.

More movie competition for us.

Interesting that they chose Youtube for the hosting.

Perhaps 711 could make us an Offcial Thread so all EU participants can post there movie links here, so we have a better opportunity to see everyones vids. Or perhaps make it so in that thread we can imbed youtube vids.

Wtf, its based on wieving??? Are MA kidding? There will be huge amount of bots refreshing video. They crash Yourtube and this competition become farss.

Just a little curious but this is a bit wierd:

Couldn't someone get a bunch of people to log on from various computers to heck out the video and get the most views? Hell, even one person could do it by themselves. Shouldn't the prize be based on the judges recommendations rather than most views?

YouTube only counts unique visits as far as I know.

However, I do see the point of them doing it via YouTube: free advertising for EU on the largest video sharing website. Plus, better google search results.
