Dear all,

Looked into some more detail. It seems MA really nerfed things up wrt fonts this time. A more detailed analysis is on another board.
Unfortunately I got a message from 711 that it was not appreciated that I refer to other boards, so you have to seek for yourself or PM me if you need the link. I don't feel like repeating everything here.

It seems this is the end of EU Companion, unless we can get MA to undo this "improvement".

In the past some donations were offered for the person who repaired pestats (or came up with something similar). Never seen the PEDs though.

Anyway, the reason for my message was not to raise money. MA really changed the font rendering, making it technically very hard and lots of work to scan the texts.
However meanwhile someone proposed an alternate idea that seems quite feasible and that I am working on. So EU Companion is not dead yet although it is still in the intensive care.
We might loose the scanning of avatar and soc names, but that is probably not a big deal.

Contributions are not needed, but if you feel you have to contribute something, you are of course more than welcome. See the documentation for details.

Hi,

I'm almost done with the upgrade for 8.12.

However in the NRF thread for NRF the following workaround was proposed:
"I am using XP, SP2, and have turned on compatability mode on entropia.exe set to 2000.."
This fixed it for NRF (and EU companion is having exactly the same issues as NRF).

As I cannot test this right now (have to go to work in a few minutes), could someone give this a try and report here?

Version 2 Alpha 3 was just released to the testers, it looks quite promising that Dutchie is nearing completion of the update.

Well... if you're in there tinking around... It would be nice to see a normal text or csv output ability as well. Instead of just a PEStats dat file.

If it is something easy to add and you deem it worthy, it would be easier to import into other sites... hint, hint

it already does; it generates csv and xml files, and pe-wiki reads them and parses them perfectly.
