What is it?
EU Companion is a small program you can use to automagically calculate your skills, given a set of screenshots or capturing them directly.
It is able to output the stats in different formats, including a PEStats' compatible .dat file, which you can upload to your PE-Wiki avatar (here) to keep it updated with only a few clicks.

Why do I need it?
Starting with VU8.8 (18Dec06), MindArk redesigned the Avatar Skills page, removing the Professions (which moved to a different pane). This creates problem with PEStats Generator.
Anoyomouse, PEStats' creator, told the community that development on PEStats 4 had halted, and that he won't be updating it anymore.
He collaborated with Dutchie who had started building a new tool for the purpose, and EU Companion is the result.

Where do I find it?
Simply go to the Download page!

How do I use it?
EUcomp (shortname for EU Companion) can work in two ways:
- you can feed it a set of already-made screenshots of the ingame skill pages;
- or you can capture the images directly with it while ingame. *Security Tips*

If you're feeding it a set of screenshots, you should use the "Generate statistics file" button, select the images (in either BMP, JPG or PNG format) and you've got the statistics files generated.
If you're capturing the images directly while ingame, you simply need to have EUcomp active, and use the PrintScreen key of your keyboard to acquire the ingame skill pages.

If you did everything correctly, a success sound will be played, and you'll end up with the statistic file for that day in different formats, including XML+XSL, .CSV and PEStats' compatible .dat file.
If something goes wrong, EUcomp will notify you with an error sound.

I've got questions/I've found a bug!
First of all, did you read the provided documentation? If you did, but you still haven't found an answer, you can either:
- post here, and hope for somebody to help you;
- go to PEAuction.com's forums and contact Dutchie there;
- write an eMail directly to dutchie@inbox.com.

*Security Tips*:
- if you want, you can launch EUcomp after you've inserted your Entropia Universe login and password in the ClientLoader, but before pressing the "Launch" button.
- if you want, you can grab the skills screenshots with another program (PEAssistant, for example), and feed them to EUcomp, even on another computer if you're really paranoid.
- if you want, you can use an Online Malware Scan service, such as this one, to check the .zip file for viruses/malware using multiple antiviruses.
- check the integrity of the download by calculating it's MD5 and/or SHA1 checksum. Version 2.1 checksums are:

- anyways Get a GoldCard!!!

This is a very nice tool and Dutchie has done a great job in making this work both online and offline.

This will be a help for those that are concerned about having any of their EU information stolen.

You can use it while playing to calculate your total skills OR you can take screenshots of each of your skill pages and use the tool to calculate skills when you are offline.

For those really paranoid, you can run EU companion on a computer that is not the one you use to play EU. You only need to have the screenshots available to be parsed.

I've tested it in both 8.11 and 8.11.1 (and in the latest not-numbered minipatch too), and it works seamlessly in fullscreen mode.
Unfortunately I myself can't test windowed mode, since I play on a laptop and the whole EU window doesn't fit...

Why, did you encountered any problems?

well, when you press "K" to look at skills the skills have now moved so I wasnt sure if it had been updated so that it could read the skills that have been moved. This tool does calc skills from screens or am I in the wrong place now ?

Don't worry... You are in the right place!
Now grab a beer from the fridge , relax on the couch and listen to the wonderful things EUcomp can do for you:
- EUcomp can parse a set of screenshots you've saved somewhere on your harddisk (given that the quality isn't too low, ofc)
- EUcomp can parse the skill pages while you're running EU in fullscreen mode, and will play a nice file when it gets the picture!
- EUcomp can parse the skill pages while you're running EU in windowed mode, provided that the EU window is fully visible on the screen!

Furthermore, if you use the real-time mode (as opposed to the already-grabbed-screenshots mode), have a look at the SysTray icon, it gives you some infos and changes colors too!

I tryed it now, and you didnt understand what I ment.
you use PEStats to calc skills, but PEStats _dont_ support VU8.11

So, that meens EU Comp. dont support VU8.11 fully.

No he uses EU Comp since PEStats stopped working in VU 8.8 already. Or did I miss something too?

well, I installed EU comp, and it says I need to install PEStats 4.0
so I installed PEStats 4.0, but it dont support VU8.11
I am confused now... help
