Notice how it states that "Neverdie presents: Entropia Universe - Space Pirates."

Now clearly this is an event, in fact the biggest virtual world event in history. But why announce an event that doesn't even have the correct platform/expansion/system to be implemented on yet?

I just sometimes wish that something new and exiting like this was presented with confirmation from all sides, and that MA came out with an official update or new system first. At least a heads-up

If he intended to commercialize the idea now, it would have appeared in CND forum, wouldn't it?

I think he slipped it and hoped no one would notice...

Well, you don't suppose the information would leak directly from MA's representatives, do you? They would lose their jobs! ND on the other hand...

But, you're right. If it's on CND web page, it could just as well be another ND event. Just like glowbones and the egg.

I agree with you, a leak from MA would never turn out good, whereas one from ND would be acceptable.

And I really, really hope that spacetravel and "treasurehunts" will be implemented, it would raise the experience of EU to an entire new level.

its not real yet. its a vision. EU is, at the current rate of development, 2 or 3 years away from somthing like this. We are more likly to see Elite3, or even Duke Nukem Forever first.

(of course if im wrong, the conspiracist will love this and probably be right)

"Months" is the word you're looking for.

The fact that it's not implemented (yet) doesn't mean it's not real.
Another fact: Computers and everything inside them evolve at breakneck speed.

do you have any comprehension of how long game development takes? This would be a second game in its own right and they are not developed in a couple of months. think how long we've been hearing about vehicles and "improvments to mindforce", then assess how long this might take.

A real fact: whats inside a computer may move a breck neck speed, but developers and companys do not.

Well, they announced CryEngine2 since summer.
Which means they started on Winter or Spring.

MA always works on the utmost secrecy, I wouldn't be surprised if they did implement SPVU on fall 2008. They announced some of its features for summer 2008 after all...

Plus, it's not only MA developing the game this time. There's a couple more companies (and the Chinese government) working on it.
And, MA is selling stocks very soon! And, if depositors don't stop putting their money on MA's wallet...

Well, EU is dynamic and MA is resourceful.

You're right, though... companies and government work VERY slowly.
Especially if the money doesn't stop flowing even after the deadline...

But why then, did ND make a website WAY ahead of time...?
