lol, they annoucned that they licenced Cryengine2 in July, so more likly the developers got to use it properly somtime in August.

Its all about "the Biz"

Why do movie companies make vague previews of upcoming movies around November to be released next summer? I have even seen previews almost a year ahead of the actual release date of the movie.

Its a preview of things to come nothing more nothing less. Its to get people talking and researching and interested in what might be around the corner.

I can't for the life of me find the quote but I think Marco had said that Cryengine 2 has a vehicle function with so they almost have to have something in place when they bring on the new engine. Who knows what else they have and what else they can implement when the new engine goes live. There are a lot of Privateer like space sims out there and it would not take much for MA to partner with another developer prior to Cryengine 2 to implement something for what will be the new Entropia Universe.

Also I would not expect a whole new space frontier to open up day one it would suspect it would probably be a trial space lane to CP and CND and maybe a moon or two or one other planet. Once they hammer out most of the bugs they will expand upon the design just like they did on our two continent planet Calypso.

At times what I think MA lacks is manpower to do the things they want to do. CRD might be the solution to that problem especially if they have to integrate all the EU planets whether they are shopping planets or planets developed with other games in mind.

I just hope that whatever is planned for the future: things get better, not worse. I like Calypso and I love the style that MindArk has used to create the environment.

Before I found Entropia Universe I played several Asian MMO's. They do not keep me entertained for long. I hope that the new worlds being built are up to MA's standards.

That thing always delays announcements.
They don't like other games robbing their ideas before they implement them. They'll have to be almost finished with their work before they even give a hint.

now that might make some sence, buying another company developing or developed a space sim and slap "EU" over the front of it.

It would really really suck to jump in the space bus and run over to the Pizza Hut planet to grab a pepperoni and sausage....then run to the qwiki mart planet to grab a six pack of Beer......only to be robbed at space laser blaster point and have my loot stolen by vile pizza and Beer bandits on my way back to my apt on CND....

that text is just a bunch of hyperbole. the bit at the end about the pirates sounds like a cheap worse-than-B grade movie. there is also no mention of exactly what this space pirate event is. it's a copy akin to those lousy teenage slasher/monster movies which always leave you disappointed when you finally see the bad guy in the rubber suit.

basically, the first half is a rehash of some basic information strung together in a manner which makes it appear to directly support (rather than speculate) the second half which is some undefined, dreamy conceptual pitch. the uninformed will surely be badgering the source for additonal, equally vacuous information. good advertising for the source, I suppose.

anyways, all previous MA story stuff suggests that robots are the general space menace. also, personally, I figured there'd be zones ("space lanes) like pvp4 where players would operate as pirates. much like the banditry going on (in the approprate areas) planetside.

I highly doubt that anyone, space pirates, robots, or otherwise, will be interfering with transit between CDR's commerical platform and our little game. the chinese planets want your ped.
