Even on a low resolution video though, you can still tell the difference, imo.

If you can't .. it could be age or bad eyes and not the video card
All I know .. is that it looks a lot cooler now .. so if you haven't .. you should probably go get a video card that works with the latest VU's!!

Hopefully this is the sort of thing Mindark will finally get rid of with the new graphics engine. I know DRDoom is probably standing on Amethera, but big parts of Eudoria hasn't changed since beta and you can really feel how old Entropia is when you visit them.

(I am still in love with the old look of Entropia, though. So please Mindark don't change the look of Calypso and please bring back the old graphics on weapons. )

I still got a Geoforce3 Ti200 card....grafix aren't shiney but i've had it so long i think it welded itself to the motherboard....but hey it works.....and for me it's gameplay over gfx anyday

What all these pics really don't do justice to is the movement of the shinyness across the armour when you move the camera around. It really is very nice, especially on the bump mapped sections.
Now if only antialiasing worked with peAssistant.

A point I was making in another thread about the Gamebryo engine some like to keep raving about is the probable fact that the 'bryo engine used in EU has probably diversified so damn much that they couldn't upgrade to a newer version of it anyway, not without almost the same effort for not as much gain as going to CE2.
