Really? Your GF3 Ti's predecessor, the GF2 GTS, was the first card to do per-pixel shading and environment bump-mapping, and all the GF3 cards expanded upon that technology...I think I read that DirectX 6.x was the first to take advantage of those features.

If stuff isn't shiny in EU, either there's something wrong with your GF3 drivers, DirectX, or...heh...EU isn't making use of your vidcard's capabilities. (Or it's defective due to the welding thing you mentioned...haha!)

The original GF3 came out in 2001. The Ti200 (not as good as original GF3) and Ti500 (somewhat better than GF3) came out less than a year later.

Even on a low resolution video though, you can still tell the difference, imo.

If you can't .. it could be age or bad eyes and not the video card
All I know .. is that it looks a lot cooler now .. so if you haven't .. you should probably go get a video card that works with the latest VU's!!
i could see the difference on the video
and to those with old screens i advise to change it too...
i used a crt screen and thought it was a bit blurred..
when i got my new screen i noticed how much i was losing with it without even noticing

Edana, it seems your graphics card is low on red and blue (cyan)...that Goblin looks like Pixie, it should look more greenish...and Shogun is supposed to be dark purple and orange, that screenshot looks dark grey...?

Shiny things are shiny only with card supporting shaders 3.0 or better. Although it is technically possible to make it on older cards, EU does not support it. It has been discussed before.

Engine does NOT have all the graphics found in games using it. It depends on the game developers how detailed it will be. It isn't like "draw a man with a sword" or "draw water here". They still have to make the models, textures and shaders.
