Question: how do YOU make friends on EF?

so now we have this friendlist in-forum as well as in-game.

my question to you is, how do YOU add people to your list? i don't mean the means to do so, i understand how to make it work. i am asking "how do you determine to make a person your friend?"

how do you know the feeling is mutual? i have people i want to add because i like what they say or i have had happy relations with them, but not sure if they feel the same. i have only added one person, but i am pretty sure he isn't upset about that.

i guess i don't want to add people that don't like or know me, but i have a hard time figuring that out.
just because i recognise a poster, does that mean they recoginze me?
should i just add everyone i like or should i wait till people add me?
am i taking this whole thing too serious and the friendlist is only a contact list with zero social context?

If I've met them either ingame, here (you know, pm's etc) or in real life and they're ok then I'll add them, but not just because I liked a post or two.

if i regularly go hunting /trade the person, if i had a nice conversation with em, and everyone in society's in FL too

All of them so far are people who are already on my in-game FL.

If someone I don't know wants to add me as a friend they should add me through my profile. When I get the invitation I'll check them out. If I like what I see, I'll accept. I do it that way if I want to be someones friend and if they don't accept, I don't let it bother me. Maybe they will invite me at some future time...

I used to be a soc leader, so I asked for some ppl of that old society to be my friends here, and i have added some ppl from my current society.
All of those ppl i have had numerous conversations (and arguments) with.

If I know the person in real life quite well, I'll usually add them, assuming they have an EF account....

I may be a bit complicated in how I choose my friends, not sure.

My ingame friends, Thats a start.

2nd, people that have supported me at EF, kind comments, kind reps.

3rd, People I repect at EF, from their posts etc (this is when I would invite, even if I dont know them that well, same as 2)

4th, The lonely guy with no friends at all, I just kinda think 'ahh come to me, come join the DJ club'

(but thats rare)

Even so, I still check you out first

When I get invites, I check your profile, then check your posts (if not an in-game friend)

I wouldnt accept you if your an utter dick

But I invite, be brave, dont be shy, if you like someone, just do it, worst they can do is not accept.

My main criteria is, who do I want checking out my RL Albums?

...and who do I NOT want checking out my personal sh&t
