Should HOF threads expire?

(Expire = autolock / autoclose)

Alot of times people go around necro'ing HOF / Uber / ATH threads and that is quite confusing to the ones trying to get ahold of loot timings so they adjust their gaming accordingly.

While gratzing someone should be allowed at any time, even 2 years after the loot, i think reviving HOF threads over 30 days is kinda pointless and only confusing....

So the question is, should these HOF / Uberloots / ATH threads expire after, say, 1 - 3 months?
Cast your vote.

Surely, www.entropiatracker.com is a lot more accurate and complete then browsing the hof forum anyway?

I can't decide. It's both yes and no. Because it is not really that confusing. The thread has a date and time, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out that it wasn't from "today". Then again I don't like necro posting on worthless threads. But I also think old threads can be very well needed to be revived again because the topic might be fresh again. I just necroed my silent uber ambulimax loot thread again since I recently gotten price check questions in PM. So I revived the thread and found out that a new ambu thigh bone was looted not many weeks ago. So sometimes necro on Global/HoF/ATH threads can be useful, sometimes not. Maybe they can be tagged with something if theyre special? I don't know really.

Well maybe. But it doesn't have pictures of the loot, and it is also only a few weeks old so it is missing important historical data which it will NEVER get, sadly.

Necroing isnt a major problem on EF in my opinion.

Yes and no. I like watching loot windows, mainly for the areas where loot was taken. That is very helpful to decide where to hunt / mine, etc..

Yep therefore the question

Not to sound rude or anything, but i have a life and work, like many people playing EU - so browsing EF is done in small, fast bits... sometimes i only have a short window to check titles.

about the ambu bone revival... It gave the feeling some stuff is dropping in EU when in fact that's not the case.

If you wanted to know the current price of ambu bone, you should of made a new PC check thread, it would be more straightforward and less confusing, IMO.

Also, some hof's revivals are just a rub in the face and might bring frustration to people. Like the current revival on the ~300K crafting ATH.

Not saying it's a major problem - but it's indeed annoying. Perhaps extend the "open" period then? 3 months?

Me thinks no....
But it would be nice if we, while browsing the forum, could se the start date of tread beside the name of the tread starter, like it is on the latest forum topics on home page.
Just my

Why not move them to a loot-history section after a while so we still can enjoy nostalgic trips on the forum. so both keep and get rid of.

If there is some auto move options that is

yes totaly. Or why not autolock all threads who havent had a post for 1-3 months, in that way thread revival and that shiet wont be possible, which would be really nice. I mean they will just get locked, they wont be gone, so everyone can still read em.
1 month might be enugh, and those who wanna keep their threads alive just make a post like ever 29 days or something to keep it alive. <- like shop threads.

So hellye awsome idea

I don't think any posts at all should have an expiration date with an autolock.

I think that it could prove useful to perhaps automatically transfer old hofs (hofs/ubers/ath) to an archive after a certain amount of time though.

And as an addition, any time you want to post in an archived thread you'd have to confirm your post (like; "Dis be a oldie, ya rly wna post?") after hitting the submit button to prevent those random "lol, grats m8"-posts to a 3 y/o hof that's done w/o looking the poster even noticing the OP's date.
