New BB Code for links to Entropedia.info

A new BB code feature has been added to EntropiaForum, to simplify linking to item pages on Entropedia.info.

Simply place the keyword or item name that you wish to link between [wiki]keyword[/wiki] tags


Example:

BB Code:
[wiki]Breer M4A[/wiki]

Output:
Breer M4A

Seems very like the search plug-in I wrote for (my own use, free to anyone who wanted to copy it.) the wiki.
Not complaining though.
Makes linking to Entropedia easier, and is probably a case similar to the Davy/Geordie Lamp. (Two different people inventing pretty much the same thing at the same time.)

Well, this isn't any kind of search plug-in; but rather a BB code shortcut to the existing Entropedia.info search function, provided so that EF members can easily link to specific items or pages in their posts without needing to remember the search URL. Forum BB codes simply replace the specified tag with designated html code.

Ok, ok.
I would not be bothered if it was the same (I freely posted it here in another thread for anyone who wanted to use it, so it would be foolish to moan if someone used it!).
I also like the additional feature.

I was not having a "wine". If I thought someone had "stolen my work" I would have taken it to PM.
It just gave me a wry feeling. I spent time working out how to do something, and not long after something similar is done by someone else.
My original post was not intended to cause offence, or suggest any form of wrongdoing. I apologise if that's how it seemed.

No Problem mate, I was just pointing out that the two tools are quite different. Actually, I have not even seen your tool, but was just basing my comparision on your description of your tool as being a "search plug-in" by which I assumed you meant a browser plug-in. Thus, I simply tried to clarify what the BB code announced in this thread actually does (link to the long-existing search function available on Entropedia).

If your tool is indeed a browser plug-in, I would guess that it is indeed very handy, and performs a quite different function than this simple BB code, which is really just a shortcut way to link to Entropedia in a post (which can be very handy on the forum, especially in sales threads).
