It's not the quitting threads that piss people off, it's the quitters who come back here to troll and flame and bring down every possible thread with their posts that carry no value or meaning.

Actually, every MMORPG I have ever seen has forums full of people who quit and then continue to hang around the forums and complain about the game. I have never understood it myself. If I ever quit because of complaints, I'm gone, no goodbye messages and no complaining in the forums, just *poof* gone.

For a quitter , i run 3 shop , craft for 3k ped TT at least all day and still manage to get som hof.
You should understand , its because i dont like what the cocacola compagnie do , that mean i dont like to drink coca cola.
I dont like MA and the way they handel lots of things in the game , but i still like the game.

But , where are your nice post where you speak about what you love in the game , or what is nice , where are your good guide on crafting , or on hunting ?
where are your post about what MA do well.
There is lots of place and thread where i dont post , neither other "trolls".
Its a bit easy to just complain after people that post "bad" things, in som way you do exactly the same , you just dont admit it.

respect your point of view, but it is not my experience....though I admit, I am not big on mmorpgs...only haveing tried about 3 or 4 of them.

With AO... I just got bored to tears and withered away....

With RV some bad things happened.... I posted my frustration about that...and posted that I could not play at that time, but hope that in the future things would change....and I will keep options open there.

while I was involved in those, I don't recall seeing a lot of "quitting" posts like we have in PE.... nor do I see them much with eve.

I really think it is a bigger issue in PE for the following reasons:

1. it is a REAL CASH economy... many people spend much more on PE than any other game...so they have more skin in the game.
2. There are some harsh realities, which should be obvious if we thought through things before we started, but often, it is only after playing and spending a good bit before we start to realize those harsh realities.... ways in which PE is different from other VUs.
3. The constant posting of hofs and globals which are there to encourage us to keep depositing may also have the side effect of causing us to think that 'others win, while I lose'....

Now, some people, when they start to become aware of these things just don't react politely. Others react in a more positive (though pointless way)....like the year I spent trying to encourage people to help noobs more, because I had the delusion that by increasing the number of players, that the cost of playing would be reduced across the board.

I just don't see these same dynamics in other mmorpgs....only PE is a mixture of mmorpg and casino, so the player experience is radically different in this way.

So, while in other games you may see 'I am quitting' posts, I don't think you see then in the same number, or voiced with as much frustration or anger.... such is the wonderfully unique heritage of the PE community.

Hehe.... maybe all this is also why I spend more time in the forum than I do in PE.
