And that's bad in your opinion? Why? If MA sees that another game implemented something similar but in a way that makes more sense to the players, how can that be bad? It might give MA the idea of what their players want, and if they change the system, it will lead to players getting a better experience ingame.

Just tried to keep EF strickly EU when i started it, and yes, also to avoid giving ppl ideas about starting another game than EU. even to prevent myself from discovering other mmorpgs, what if ppl posted about some awesome mmorpg, I gave it a try, and in the case that I really liked it, closed down EF, because why would I run EF if I was not playing EU...

Can I start calling you MaoB from now on?

Im sure, if you wish to try out a new MMO other then EU, then you will find one without the help of EF. We are not here to drive away the players, but rather to make a community around EU, not a community of general MMO´s.

NOone talked about making a community of general mmo's We are talking about the common sence of being able to just name another mmo without it being deleted. People here like EU - if people say something else it's because of the frustration we all had from time to time. When people are reacting it's because they want things to be better. If they cannot try doing that on THE forum, were else. I still think that openminded discussion about ALSO the world outside is healthy. No doubt that you are all trying to "keep" people in here - but doing it with restrictions is just as telling a teen she is not allowed to go out in the evening and be sure she jumps out of the window .

Thanks for your response MB, although i was hoping for people to see beyond just talking about "other MMO's". There are lots of other gametypes that Entropia participants play. FPS is a good example of this and would not harm Entropia in anyway. Would be nice to discuss these without the feeling that you are doing something bad, or against the rules of this forum. It would for example be nice to find others that enjoy ww2 FPS gaming like i do, or others that have been Unreal & TFC fans from the late 90's like myself. It gives opportunity to make new friends within Entropia which otherwise you wouldnt have anything in common with.

Anyway i'll respect the rules at EF even if i dont agree with them all

I'm pretty sure MA already has all that covered, reading forums and articles about other games, analyzing, maybe even "reverse engineer" some ideas from other games.

Talking about other games and what you would like to see in EU that they have in other games is almost worthless, as MA cannot use it, they would be stealing ideas from other games and risk charges for copyright infringement and worse.

But imo, you can just make a thread in wishlist about what you wish to see in EU, without having to direct people to a game. Just explain it.

The argument he used is just moot.

How many other games use pets? Quite a few. Are all the game companies constantly in court because other games also allow mining, auctioning, trading, crafting and what not?

As for the wishlist. So it is okay to describe in detail something another game implemented? But won't MA get sued for compyright infrignement?

Its not because of the rules that is set, and we are not saying "thou shalt not play another game" I think viewing it that way is way wrong, we just want to maintain the forum for beeing about EU, not any of the other games. What you do outside this forum I have no business with whatsoever.

No, what I meant is that restrictions makes things worse!

Actually I don't see what is wrong with this - and why you fear this so much. I think it's only because "that's how I decided it should be" and stubbornness - and not because you cannot see the possibilities it gives to be able to keep people here and not send them away to other forum's? You should take it as a compliment instead of a threat.

If you wish for something in particular in EU, just write what you want to be seen. I dont mean you should descirbe exactly what is happening in another game.

If it was a forum for everything you wished to discuss, it would be alot of crap in the forum that had nothing to do with EU.
So lots of stuff that has nothing to do with EU, and when your trying to find something that is acctually about EU, you can only find off-topic posts and posts about other forum, S&M and whatnot you wish to discuss that has nothing to do about this game.

People come here to discuss the game, and to be a member of the EU-community. Not for discussing everything else..
