peboard.com takes me to a cock enlargement site. not exactly what i need in entropia or in real life. however, if i played second life, maybe. lol. in any case, i am thinking that might have somethign to do with it. did the url registration lapse?

Earl, the url I am talking about is pe a board.com, so with an a in it.
btw the forum sw does not have any problems with peboard.com.

I'm still curious to find out the rationale why !!!!!!!! is not allowed, as well as what criteria are applied to decide on what words are replaced by !'s and what not.

Links to and/or promotion of websites that substantially violate the rules of EntropiaForum or the EntropiaUniverse EULA may be censored by preventing such links in signatures, profiles, blogs, post content, or other publicly visible areas of EntropiaForum.com, especially when a consistent campaign to promote those sites is observed. The censored words or links are automatically replaced by exclamation points by the forum software, and will appear like this: !!!!!!!!!!.com

An example of such prohibited links are those to sites that feature scammer lists. The site you mention is one of these, and thus links to that site were prevented several months ago when it was noticed that a scammer list was being promoted.

Another example is popular third-party image hosting sites. In order to prevent broken image links on EntropiaForum, members are required to upload any images they wish to include in a post to the EntropiaForum Gallery. It is thus more practical to prevent links from some of the more popular image hosting sites (such as image shack.com) beforehand, rather than waste moderators' valuable time removing unwanted links. This also encourages members (especially new members) to use the forum gallery instead, since the third-party image links will not work.

It would be pointless to have a set of forum rules prohibiting certain behavior or content if members were allowed to circumvent those rules by simply promoting and/or linking to sites featuring such prohibited content.


To avoid confusion in the future, I will include this information in the next update of the forum rules (even if it is pretty much already covered in this portion of the existing rules):

I checked and although the site does allow reporting of individual scam attempts with proof, scanner lists are not allowed there either:

and the subforum in question only contains 6 threads. Hardly the substantial violation you mention (actually I think EF itself has more, search easily revealed some)

Sure. I understand you do not want endless discussions on the rules.
Then again I hope we, the users of this forum, may assume some clarity and reason and not be exposed to random arbitratiness.

Sure rules have to be discussed, but people here sometimes dont know the meaning of the word forum. What I also especially notice is how many people who posted in this thread are banned! So I better not comment since I say whats on my mind and we can't do that here!
