Freedom speech dont exist anywhere.
There all time someone that look if what you say is oki.
Book , TV , news paper .... there all time things you can not say , depending on rules fixed by law.
And if someone think you dont folow the say rule , you go to court , and there , if a judge think you are then you are wrong ...

Also , if you think in your case what the judge say is wrong , then you can discuss the rule in it self , but you can not "atack" the jusge himself.

You got here(that thread) a place to discuss rule.
I do bielieve its here you should express you problem.
But still , insulting a judge in a news paper wont make your point , neither making a thread about how dumb is the mod that lock your thread.

From experiance , a PM to a mods with som excuse and som open discution will bring you a better result.

And you can bet , if i was mods , and i made an error , i would probably try fix it if i got PM explaining it.For sure , i would just ban you if you start to insult me for that.

Free speach do not exist , its all time "limited" speach , moderated speech , in a set of rules , to alow evryone to speak of evrything without creating problem.

Full free system like anarchie is very hard to live.From comunautie experiance like "hippie" ... if you whant to keep your system alive , you must filter a lot who come in.because most of people can not even understand they have to respect other.

As for forum rules , i do agrea with lykke for other game.
I think , luring people to other game should be forbiden , but , we should be abel to discuss about other game for comparaison.
For exemple , using EVE to speak about auction tell a lot.the auction system(and lot of econic things) are very very powerfull.
speaking of avatar and clothe , you can compere a lot with SL.
We can speak about tecnologie and so on.
Speak about what we think is good or bad in other game.because not all is good elsewhere.

What rule you are going to use to protect personal data like e-mail addresses or other (IP, RL data and similar).
Or you feel free to sell it to 3rd party like MindBuster have done selling site to you ?

I hear what you say, but I do disagree. My view of 'free speech' is simple. If what I say does not hurt anyone, why would any not allow me to speak. I wish those words were mine, but a much wiser man said them.

But, I agree whole heartly with the statement. If I call you names, if i attack you and not the message, then a MOD has my blessing and I would hope all other members to delete the post or ban the player. But if a MOD does not agree with the message and decides to close the thread, then I do have a problem.

Yes, a court of law is one thing, but I am sorry, a forum is not a court of law. It is far from it. A court of law is based on just that LAW. The powers that be here are trying to make their rules, their 'laws'. I understand that, but in doing so, they are setting themselves over what some call 'Natural Laws', the right to be safe in your home, the right to worship as you desire, and the right to speak your mind without fear of being punished for speaking something that others don't agree with.

That is my whole point. From John Locke to today, a view of the social contract, that is the general viewpoint of the 'free world' is that Human Kind has rights that should not be 'touch' by the laws of man. That Human Kind has these rights from birth, and if any governemnt or group sets themselves between the 'Natural Laws' and "Man's Laws' then we have the right to fight and if possible change Man's Laws to reflect those of Nature.

What I just said, in simple terms, not for Etopia but for those that don't agree is that if you don't allow another to speak their mind, how long will it be before you are not allow to speak yours? Again, not my words, thank you Mr. Jefferson.

I would just like a way to post about a game i enjoy...lol, most of the time, and not be in fear that I might piss off some person that does not agree with what I say. I would like to feel free to post that the moon is made of 'green cheese' and then let the other members tell me i'm an idiot, with out a 'goverment' droping me into jail...yes, i see a ban as like being in jail..you can not take part in society, it's an adult form of 'time out'.

How I see it? Sometimes the not known is the most interesting, so why give people the opportunity to leave the forum? Since EU is so special and not getting money from monthly fee's, but have a real life economy were you can deposit and withdraw money, other mmorphs would not be natural competitors and therefor not a threat! In fact we (read=MA) from our discussions could get ideas from wishes and annoyans which in the long run could be ideal for the MA-team to work with and a great help. On top of that, the possibility to share as much as possible in here would keep and attract people to the forum and thereby loosing up some of the "cencored"-annoyed matters which is kind of shown in a lot of peoples posts and expressions!

No doubt that EF is a main forum for EU and always should be. But making a sub forum were people openminded can discuss other hobbies/interests would be a real good thing for not only the community but also for both EF and EU!

i understand your intentions but im here to discuss EU. If there is a forum for 'other games' then maybe someone wants a forum for xxxxx and the next one for yyyy...

then someday i log onto EF and click on new threads and its full of NON EU related new topics..

So, someone tell me who is 711 and why is he changing the rules without being a mod? Where's MB?

EDIT: OK, seems someone has bought EF from Mindbuster? And we don't know who it is? And Euro has been banned

I'm struggling to find the thread that explains all this stuff...if I'm missing it can someone post or PM me the link? ty

but I think you see the issue as being a bigger problem than it really is. And so do I think MB and maybe 711 does.

As things are now you also see a lot of non-EU-related topics; they are just called: Show us your face, Show us your pet, Show us your car, Tell us a secret, Lykkes Diary

... etc. I'm quite sure though, that if 711 decided to make a "other games" sub forum, it would be possible to make it in a way, that you had to click on the special section to see the new threads, and that the new threads would not been shown in the standard menu. Personally, I would not care - but I would care if there are restrictions in what we as game-interested "grown-ups" can discuss and not. When it comes to game-related things not flaming or harming EU/MA. I would, as said, rather keep people in here than to send them away to the "enemies" cave!

And I'm not talking about 711 different kind of sub forums

, one each game - but ONE sub-forum were you can discuss how to install Oblivion or how much it sucks that wow don't have TP-chips !
