I am excited to present the five finalists from the EF Reporter Contest!
Now the EF community has a chance to elect the next Official EntropiaForum Reporter! I would like to thank all the members who submitted articles in this contest. Even with only eight entries, it was a very tough task choosing the five finalists; all the submissions were very creative and a delight to read. Finalists, with links to submitted stories: Jimmy B :: Jimmy's News Sir Odd :: Sir Odd's Postings Pinky :: The Atrox Egg Saga Donald :: And now she's gone... Hurrikane :: Cheap Thrills on Calypso Please take a few minutes time to read all of the finalists' submissions, and vote for the member who you believe would serve the community best in the role of Official EntropiaForum Reporter. Also, we encourage members to post in this thread their reasons for voting for a particular finalist's submission. This poll will close on Sunday, Oct. 29, so make sure to make your voice heard! Congratulations to all of the finalists! Great work, and best of luck in the voting! ![]() |

Well, of course i'm a bit disappointed that i'm not among the finalists. But i wish all of them good luck, especially to Jimmy B, who gets my vote, hands down.
The reasons are : his ability to mix some serious but easy to read stuff (not too much in depth because front page is not the place for in-depth articles) with other articles with a great sense of humor. The I'll only say the reason why i don't vote for Donald : too self centred. I was very worried that my short story was not exactly matching the requirements for a front page. And i was probably right. That's why i added two interviews. I think Donald's post faces the same issue : it's fun, but it's not news. Not what i expect to read when i log in Entropia forum. So : go Jimmy go !! Last edited by Tangine; 10-26-2006 at 07:17. |

Now they don't say there is NEED for license, but that you MUST have one anyway. I am so happy that Mindark finally show their true face : this real cash economy is not capitalism, it is not communism, it is not socialism, it is totalitarian all the way. Big brother just got bigger... Enjoy !

Voted Pinky,
I liked the subject of the story as its one many want to know about and the interview with ND showed the reporter in her. Go Pinky (Although Jimmy's Interview with the Atrox was a close second ) |

My compliments to all the contestants for some very well written entries
+reps to all!I liked Pinky's best as it reflected the style that I think is appropriate for reporting the news and other EU related topics. Donald's story was, as with all his writings, very interesting and well told, but not really what I expect from an EF reporter. If there was a contest for best EU-related, fictitious short-story, it would be a different matter. I also liked Jimmy B's entry, it came a close second to Pinky ![]() Cheers ![]() Quote:
Donald, I will rep you after I have spread some around... |

I think Jackfree summed up my thoughts on this very nicely. All the entries were great - so thanks to all for providing some light entertainment during my otherwise dull working days in the office.
As a creative piece of writing Donald's was the one that had me hooked from the outset. However I thought Pinky's and Jimmy's styles were more suitable for the role of EF reporter. In the end I voted Pinky (just), I think because she went the extra mile in actually interviewing Neverdie (although I suppose Jimmy did interview a few mobs, and a dead akiranblade )Really great stuff all round though! |
