Private WoF Forum Sections

Hey 711,

As you love tinkering with EF and are running out of things to do with the upgrade ......

How about a Private section for each requesting WoF Team?

Each team would still have the main team thread for sign-ups and interaction with other teams, deciding on hunting times etc.

But each team also having a private area, like a bunch of socs already have.

I know they take a bit of time to set up, but would be a really nice place for teams to natter and organise stuff that is only relevant to them. The nominated Team Captain would be the mod for the area.

I was thinking about that too... its hard to find a time everyone can meet up in game without excluding some, but at the same time, hard to dicuss tactics in private on a public forum...

yup i gotta agree a private section for each team would make our lives a load easier....Team Scotland are using Kygons Kotoc Forum for this and know of other teams doing similar but to keep it all under the one roof would make more sense and save us from signing up to 3rd party forums....

As long as Hurrikane is on board with it, I have no problem providing the private forums.

I can set up the WoF team forums just like the private society forums, and have the WoF team captain be the usergroup leader (manage group invites) as well as the team forum moderator.

Note that these forums will not be visible to EF Moderators, but will be visible to admins (me and MindBuster). Normally we do not read those forums unless a member or group leader contacts us with an issue. Note also that I will be participating in WoF for team USA; I have no intention of reading any info posted in these private sections, but paranoia is a powerful thing. Thus, if you do not trust that I will refrain from reading the private WoF forums, your team should seek another alternative.

The best way to handle this is to have the team captain for any team interested in a private forum section contact me via PM.

And yes, I too had foreseen that some people may have issues with a Team USA having access to all the other teams jibberjabber, but I personally can't see why you would bother. A few teams may have issues, but as you say, should this be the case, they can sort something else out

I'm more than happy to say yes to this idea, as long as folk still post in the open Team Threads as well (at least a bit, I get paranoid if you all whisper....)
