Language Sections on EntropiaForum

For some time now, I have been considering adding a new forum section where members would be able to discuss Entropia Universe in their native languages.

The main reason for my reluctance has been a fear that such sections would divide the community along language/nationality lines rather than bring it together, which is one of the primary missions of EntropiaForum. However, there could also be advantages to having these language-specific forum sections, such as allowing Entropia Universe participants who do not speak English very well to participate on EF, but may have felt intimidated or unwelcome in the past because of the English-only rule.

I thought it would be a good idea to solicit some feedback from our members while considering this issue.

I like the idea, but can see it being a nightmare to administrate - you would need numerous new mods who can speak the language of the various sub forums, have numerous threads all saying exactly the same thing (all be it in a different language) which presents you will forseeable arguments like rule breaking in one language that wasnt picked up and an enforced rule in another... it may also lead to a lack of posts in the english speaking section from those who can now converse in their own language (thats purely a selfish reason of course! )

if you think you can overcome those, it would be a great addition to the forum!

I have to agree with Pinky, it would be nice.. but you are going to have hell before getting to work like you want to :/ specially with new mods and so on..

I like the idea, and I think that the language forums would be fairly self-contained, and the need to mod them would be fairly minimal. I certainly would welcome the idea, as we have clearly a number of russian, spanish, french, german, portuguese, swedish etc speakers who would both participate in the main section and would welcome the ability to speak clearly in their native language.

I mainly learn english in game and in forum.
I am dyslexic , and i my french spelling is as bad as my english...

I did learn it alone , and i dont understand why other would not make the effort.

Point of online game is share experiance and fun with people all over the world...

What are the odd to speak and share something with an russian or chinese , if we both dont do effor to learn a comon language....

Great idea, but sounds like a whole heck of a lot of work .. and like Pinky said .. could lead to less English posts (Whatever would I do )

There should be some feature somewhere like in EU .. where everyone can pick the language of their choice

I'm a bit biased, but i think EF should stay english only.

There are other forums targeted at players that speak other languages.

Also i've seen that some of the posts here at EF are many times linked back from the French, German and other language specific forums.

So i think they are not left out that much.

I hate the idea.

I wish only that people would NOT feel intimidated by using English, I understand most of people say, even if its broken, mispelled etc.

What I hate is the as$holes that mock them, make them their own forum maybe 'as$hole area only'

Anyhoo, Im biased, only speak English but i do fully appreciate the effort some people make.

well in the native section then all the forum rules can be broken without an administator who can speak the language as other ppl said something smilar in this thread before

Ecaxtly. I'm also dyslexic and it helpt a lot to write english everyme. (not always correct but you can understand me).
We all need a comon language because otherwise if we don't lern it we will never be able to play this game on a good level.
No communication between all entropians = no universe !
