Question regarding 5b vs 8AL

Hi Gents

Just a quick question

I had 8A plates which i been using and i matched them with my ghost and could take on quite a big ammount of argos even 2 hunters at a time, My plates eventually wore out to a point they only had like 1 ped or so on them but still the impact resistance was amazing hunters were like only causing like 1.0 damage at most or prob 2.0.

Now these plates wore out put them away and went hunting with just ghost and noticed couldnt handle lets say 2 gatherers at one time hunter was a like a big no no, so decided to buy 5b's this time bought them less tt to save on cost so each plate was only like 6 otr 7 ped tt attached to ghost but impact was just like i had no plates in my ghost. Mate advised that repair plates as less tt plates is less protection

So the question is when i had 8A plates even there tt was like 1 ped they would work just as good if their tt was full

While 5b's their tt was 7 or 8 ped and performed as they were non existance

Isit because L plates will perform just as good regardless of their tt while non L plates will perform only good if they are repaired to max and not when tehir low?

Yup, that's the case, for L equipment will always keep it's full protection strength regardless of tt value cause it wouldn't be fair for the owners because they can't repair it to full tt. And non L owners have to repair because they have the luxury of reusing the plates and not go and buy another set.

(L) items keep the same protection right through to exhaustion.

ahh nice thanks for info i guess to get full protection i have repaird the plates to max but armor is down to half its tt so once thats done should be okay
