Whats best armor against Hoggolos

I have tried various armors against solo'ing hoggs and I just cant seem to find the happy medium. So I ask what would armor would you reccomend against hoggs?

I know hoggs are mostly:
Stab: 33 %
Cut: 33 %
Impact: 33 %

I have tried solir, nemesis and seem to not be able to find a decent one for me. I am not limited to just those, but what is everyone else using? I thought that it might be the plates that I am using with them that are making the difference. I have been using 5B plates.

well its not just what armour you use - depends on your weapon, and fap skills etc...

Ghost + 5b is enough to solo hoggs you have to use 5b plates unles you have minimum of angel (well for most people)

You will need however a ek2600 or 2350 (hard with a 2350) and enough paramedic level toget mainly max heals.

Secondly the faster your damage per second the easier they are to solo.

For example I use HL8+e15 no that economical but it has high dmg per sec so I kill them quite fast.

The thing that is unique about hoggs is that they basically never miss, unlike most mobs... SO you get hit everytime - thats why its best to team them - to cut the decay on armour down which is higher then most mobs in game from not missing and absorbing all 3 damages.

I guess it also depends on your HP level but even with 110 hp they are very doable.

Because they don't miss what you want to do is understand that you will get hit for max 50ish... so you can probably take 2 hits... you shoot untilyou are below 50% then you fap, then shoot more...

with this armour setup you get a lot of 1.0 dmg hits and hits from 1-10 dmg which allows you to keep shooting, they only way you should die from this setup is if you get lazy and dont fap properly, if you lag, or if you get crit'd. Gettting crit'd is quite common :<

I have decent FAP skills with using the EMT2600 and 108 HP. I mainly use my ghost +5b on all other mobs, but the hoggs give me a run for my money. I can solo them pretty decently. I just wanted to cut down on them constantly hitting me. I know they have like 90% hit rate and whatnot. For my weapons, I use the katsuitichi honor and pride and that seems to work decently on them. Maybe I should expierement on what rifle I use. For eco, I use the fusil charade which has a low damage rate on hoggs and distance I use the marber bravo. You think I should go with a L rifle? I have 3.5k rifle and 5k lb.

about the hitrate, it's not 90%.. it's 100%!! atleast until somewhere above level 30 evader

so if you want to cut down on hitrate, chip evade skills ^^

I'm pretty certain hogglo have missed me more than once at 13 evader or so. It always feels great when they miss

best armor i found for hunting hogs is someone elses..use a weapon that does just under their damage and the hog chews on them.

evade doesnt do shit against hoggs...

your problem is your low dmg per sec weapon.

yes you should be using an L weapon with an amp that you are 10/10 on

You got some rifle skills - do u have blp or laser weap tech?

laser = ISIS series.... 41,43,53,59 with a nice fap amp
blp = geotreak ithink... apis or manis or whatever with a nice big amp

I also want to add that its easier to "tank" a mob with faster reload - thats why I like handguns which have faster reloads overall. You just need to pay attention when to fap and when to shoot more with slower reload.

Best advise is to not hunt them, or in team. Soloing with your gear and skills will never be profitable, unless you are very lucky. So unless you get your hands on an imp 2870, mm, or imk2 don't hunt them solo.

I agree with Zibbit here almost completely except for the above, I have had hoggs miss me reasonably often. I admit though they never miss until you start hitting fairly high evader (20+ or so).

Now, Dasps those bastards never miss. I think out of the close to 150 of them or so I have killed I actually got missed once. I can't even be sure of that, Smoothee and i were so stunned neither of us can be sure we really saw it miss LOL.


Also, at your skill level none of the guns mentioned by chielsen will help you at all so please please please don't waste your money on them if you were considering it.


Also, there are a few more mobs that are 33/33/33 than the ones listed. Trax and Trox for starters (wiki is dead wrong on these).
