I know this is real noob... but I need to know and I ask here, because no one answered my calls ingame
So, according to Entropedia, I can hunt molisks in Gnome+3A and take as much damage as if I hunted daikis in pixie... But, does that mean I'll have to get eight 3A parts and attach one to each armour part of the set? I can't understand in general what ppl mean when they say e.g. Pixie+5B, is that full set with a plate on each part or a pixie set with one plate attached? Thanks for your time ![]() |

Looks like a set of 2As could turn out to be useful too Although, I just bought the only seven 3A plates off the auction this afternoon I've been saving up on money but I saw them and realised I won't see them again soon, so I bought em Btw, Settler+3A turns out to be more eco than pixie alone against combi, so I got the 3As in consideration to their usefulness in different situations You may have guessed that I'm hunting mobs who drop tailoring materials, and are not such a hard target for a noob like me :P |

There are some research posts , done by the EF scientific approach dudes, that show that most hits ( about 30% ? don't remember) are taken on the harness, with the rest distributed equally among the other parts, but it was all random...your gloves could still take 5 hits a row.
Since I am a tightwad, I hunted for a long time in Ghost with a 5b plate on harness and 4b on the rest. That worked ok, but when I finally went with all 5B plates, I could really tell the difference, and was taking on higher maturity mobs that I would have not challenged before. |

I remember my first encounter with a molisk young.
A small, harmless looking thing, buck teeth, short legs, and arms so big it should fall over, and be unable to get back up. It sliced me, diced me, kicked my ass, and killed me. The general opinion is that mobs hit each armour part (or the part that the armour would be on) according to a set formula. I will make the following up, as the figures as not certain any more. Harness 40% Arms 20% Shins 10% Thigh 15% Face 5% gloves 5% Feet 5% This will not stop 10 hits to your feet in a row, as it's just the overall chance as to where the hit will land. So if hunting a mob, any mob, it will hit, on average, hit your harness more that your feet, so if buying armour parts, buy the harness first. Ditto, put plates on the harness first. |

I've use a Gnome+3a setup quite a bit - and for me it was a good match for Molisks. That was my first set of plates and they've remain paired with my Gnome ever since.
![]() But really, 2a's are easy to get, cheap, and very close in protection if you can't find a full set of 3a's. Miles |
