Gonna kick this entry off with a rant. Strangely enough people seem to find 'em entertaining (or so I've been told). So for those people, this is probably a good blog entry for you.
Okay, so there I am at the auctioneer minding my own business. You know the usual. Search for cheap items, stare in awe at things that I'll never afford, and smirk at people who for some reason bid +350 on an Opalo. But entertainment never lasts long. Someone just has to ruin the mood right?
In comes a bald guy in nothing but underpants asking if anyone would 'donate 3PED'. Donate? Sorry buddy, but like the rest of us I just donated my last paycheck to MindArk. No one in the service center replied at first, which to the average sane person would indicate no one was interested. But not him. No. He simply spammed again '3PED donate plz'. Even when people told him to shut up, he continued.
Firstly, he must have had some kind of mental block that blinded him to the fact that no one was gonna give him PED. You know there's the surprising fact that between the first and second time you asked, I haven't changed my mind! And secondly, when did 3PED get THIS important? He was begging as if his life depended on it. I mean in the time he spent begging, he could have sweated 3PED! And it's what... $0.30? Assuming he didn't want to waste money in Entropia, did it ever occur to him that the $0.30 he could have deposited was actually wasted on the electricity to run the computer for the time he was begging?
Note the excuse. He needed help because he was French. I'm sorry, but that excuse holds up as well as a person with leprosy on a square wheeled bicycle. Though if that excuse actually works, maybe I should submit a support case.
Haha. Yeah right. 
To be fair, at this point I hadn't got involved. But as proved once more, if you ignore a problem it won't vanish. After asking me for money and getting the blunt answer of "No.", he proceeded to try and trade me. Why? Did he think I was being sarcastic when saying no? No. Non. Nein. Go away!
Look, if I'm gonna 'donate' 3PED to a stranger it ain't gonna be for nothing. Hell, even for 1PED I'd at least expect that person to be my bitch for the day. And I mean that in both the normal and dodgy way. Seriously. For 3PED I'd own you for the next three days. A decoy for mobs? You'd be called. Personal healer? You'd be called. My PED card low? Your ass would be on a street corner in Atlantis.
"Ah" some of you are saying. "That serves you right for hanging around at Atlantis!" Okay, I'd agree with that if I was actually wearing my normal black clothes and coat at the time. But I was in the tattered OJ newbie clothes and just generally blending in. Which makes this whole story even more idiotic. Why beg from someone who appears to be another newbie? If YOU don't have PED, what makes you think they do? Way to go Einstein. >_>
Don't get me wrong here. I don't mind giving newbies free items like a gun/ammo, armour, some mining stuff etc. Nor do I mind giving society members and friends under market-value items. Or giving someone ammo or ME on a hunt because they're low. That's fine. Just not to people who openly BEG. And certainly not to ones who are going all out to be more irritating than a tropical skin rash.

Earlier today I got my second ever highest loot (thanks to markup). A 157PED Emik T10 today at Longu Land:

Later sold it for 265PED. Got another global on that same run, and a few minis. Went out with 200PED ammo and returned with 513PED TT value including the T10. About 400ish PED profit. Not bad!
Oh and now its time for the infamous "Quote Of The Month" section. This month it goes to Pinky during a recent team hunt:
There was an incident earlier this evening that Pinky insisted was an apt quote for this. But alas, it's against the rules to enter my own quotes. Remember it only counts if they are from other people that make me laugh, are well timed or are simply stupid. Otherwise people are gonna say I typed something deliberately to print screen etc etc. But for the curious, this what was said (I included this for you Pinky):

Well, he was French. That should be reason enough.
When i hit a HOF on shoes way back, a noob in the SC said "let me have them". Thinking that karma is a good thing, and having received a pair of shoes from someone else my first month after they had a good run, i proceeded to trade him and give him the full tt shoes. He responded, "I want the rest."  |
