Hello all! Welcome to this blog. The purpose of this blog is to share my hunting misadventures. Hopefully some of it, you'll find humorous, and I hope sarcasm doesn't offend you. The newer hunters may discover new things by reading this. Some of the more fortunate avatars will disagree with it. The rare handful of avatars who are similarly blessed (cursed?) with the same loot potential I have, can commiserate with me. If you happened to be involved in an area I was hunting, and would like to provide your viewpoint, by all means contribute!
Theories can be compared and shared. Comments are welcome. I would like this blog to show my ongoing efforts in futilely producing HOFs and my first ever uber (should that ever happen) will be proudly lauded here. The only thing I wish I could do is to record the number of mobs that were killed in each hunt session. (Yeah, I did that once, using the good ol' "pen-and-paper" method, but it took all the level of immersiveness out of hunting and by the time I'd recorded almost 1300 atraxes killed without a global, my damn hand was sore...)
Hope you enjoy the read!

Losing Out On Longus

Evening, Feb. 7, 2008 – Before Bed
I decide to put in about 2 hours of hunting before I go to bed. I decided to change things up a little and hunt some longus. I ammo’d up with my usual 20K light and 30K medium laser cells and took a few teleport-hops SE of Twin, towards the longu desert there. After my first hop, I found a lot of big daikibas – Prowlers, Stalkers, Dominants, even an Old Alpha, plus all the usual lower-maturity suspects. As usual, the bigger the maturity, the more no-loots I received. However, it was not all for naught, as I got a full TT Pixie shin, after shooting maybe 100 or so Daikibas. I eventually got bored with the overall unexciting loots so I proceeded with my second TP-hop southeastward.
I spawned to find myself surrounded by about a dozen red dots. Fortunately, nothing was aggro’ing on me. When the white “teleport-fog” cleared, I saw that I was surrounded by longu youngs to olds who were completely oblivious to my presence. I whipped out my M2875 and thanked them for being so nice, by killing them all.
I continued hunting longus and sabakumas for the next 30 minutes or so, killing a couple dozen more longus and any worm that happened to come within firing range. The sabas were looting better than the longus (as usual). It was mostly peaceful and easy hunting, I don’t think anyone else was in the area—until I eventually saw a green dot appear on radar. He was minding his own business so I continued the killing spree, spotting a rare Longu Dominant that had decided to spawn there. As he closed in, I had him down to about 10% health when he crit’ed me through my lowly Ghost armor that I chose to wear for this hunt, and unfortunately found myself back in Twin Peaks to the sound of explosive projectiles being lobbed all over tarnation.
I quickly healed and TP-hopped to the SE to finish off the bastard Dom that dared to crit me. I arrived at the spot where the green dot was, and found my Dom, and the other avatar gleefully exclaimed he just globalled (from Longu Provider)! He seemed really shocked to have gotten the global, but I was hardly surprised. I got that familiar sinking feeling in my gut that nothing good was going to come of this hunt…but nonetheless, I stuck it out and shot as many longus and worms (and a few lonely atraxes) as an A103-amped MK4/A105-amped M2875 can kill, in an hour (which is quite a lot). The best loot I receive is from a mean worm that must’ve once bit off the hands of an unwary couple wearing Shogun armor. Low-TT M & F Shogun gloves, maybe between the two sets, the TT is worth about 5 PED.
I gotta work in the morning, so I TP back to Twin, shooting a bunch of big daikibas and tantillions between hops (a couple dozen maybe) just for the hell of it. Nothing eventful happens and I dump my crap in storage and logoff.
