I've had a lot to think about over the weekend... Such as:
My job and the fact that my Dealership is closing at the end of this month... Trying to figure out what my plan of action is... I have a game plan, which is Taking the lay off, giving me some time to pursue a different career in Baking/ Cake Decorating while still collecting 50% of my normal weeks pay... Of course, and looking for a part time job before the end of the month is a must!

Jambon surprised me with some news last night as well! :yay: Seems his step sister is due to have her baby in mid October... So his parents are planning a road trip out to Ottawa to visit her. James figures since his parents will be there and I can take a few days to drive up to Ottawa, we should get married in the process!! :D
Nothing fancy.. just a quick, legal ceremony having his parents there to witness the occasion. We figured that at least that will get the ball rolling as far as getting my paperwork started for my Permanent Resident Card. :)
While James is back in Ottawa he'll be able work and get his own place, while we wait for the paper work to finalize. In the meantime we can visit each other on a regular basis and I can tie up my loose ends here.... Oh and legally change my name of course :ahh: to Mrs. Jambon lol

Finally things are coming together... Hopefully by next Spring I'll be making the Big move to Canada :woohoo: It's been tough not knowing when things will start happening, that alone has been the most frustrating these last 4 months. Tom Petty said it best, "The waiting is the hardest part".

On another note... The PE Addicts finished another beacon Mission about an hour ago.. Today it was a 29pedder, all went smoothly, all boxes were looted....a bit of a loss, but we all walked away with 40.64ped. We are still looking for a beacon that contains globals.. We have yet to find one, but that doesn't stop us from trying!

Well, the rumors flying around at work were somewhat confirmed today.
The Parts/Service Director came in and sat down with the managers for a little pow wow.... My manager,Al came back and informed me that the owners are in fact closing the store. September 30,2008 is the last day of business as "Dodge".

The owners have already started the buying process to obtain a Kia franchise. They will find a place for as many employees as they can, the rest will be given a "pink slip" and will be able to collect unemployment. I suspect that the Managers will be harder to place. However, everything still has to be sent back to Chrysler, and the setting up for Kia has to be done... :scratch2: That should be interesting to say the least.

We were asked to go about business as usual and the employees will be told "officially" next week.

As tempting as sitting home and collecting unemployment sounds :rolleyes: it's really not as good for me as I keep hearing about. I did some research and found how to calculate what I'd be getting paid/week through unemployment... Looks like I'd get about 50% of my normal weeks pay....Not Cool... Then it could take up to 4 weeks to see my first check, :eek: Oh sure, it will be retro active, but still... it's having enough money saved to not fall behind for 1 month.

I am fortunate enough to at least get some sort of heads up... I'm thinking that I have a few options here...

* I get offered to work back at the other Dodge Store, same pay, same benefits, same schedule, same drama... just a different location.

* I take this opportunity to get out of the Automotive Business... From what I heard the other day, Chrysler is going down hill and fast... So much in fact that they asked for a loan and were denied, but given a lesser amount just to stay in business 1 more year. :confused: Yikes... I could be looking at another lay off in 12 months....

Technically I can work a part time job and still collect unemployment as long as I don't make more than I'm collecting... So, Before the store closes... I could try to find a part time job at a Bakery or in the Bakery Dept at one of the local grocery stores and finally do something I'm passionate about. If the part time thing works out and I'm offered full time, then bonus... Otherwise I find something else before my 30 weeks are up.

* Worse case scenario.... I collect unemployment, work a part time job to make up for the difference, try to enjoy the extra time off and wait for a call back once the Kia Store is ready for business... The company being the way it is... Will want "their" employees there and would rather keep the hiring of "new" employees too as little as possible... So even IF I went back to the other Dodge store, I think my time there would be short lived, and I'd be transfered back to the old location...

So there you have it.... That's what I've come up with so far... I'm trying to think of all of the possible situations and wanting a solution to each. If anything it's really opened my eyes to the fact that I need to be a bit more conservative and save as much as I can whenever possible... When life throws you a curve ball, I want to be ready to hit it out of the park :D

Not that I'm a shop-aholic... Good god no. When I'm not working, I'm home... I do get out once a week for laundry and grocery shopping, I don't even shop online.. No No, I tend to spend my extra money in a virtual world :ahh: I just have to be a little more frugal, and stop dumping in $50-$100/month... That $10 here $30 there oh wait!! $20 here sure does add up.

I know that this next comment is one of the more popular cliche's... so bear with me...

But we all come to a cross road in life... maybe a few times in fact.... And you see yourself standing there and each road is marked but you still are unsure which way to go :scratch2: But really, all you are thinking about is being able to look back on this moment and NOT regret the choice you made.

Do you take the easy road, the more popular path...

Do you take the more difficult road, full of ups & downs with twists & turns...

Do you venture off and create your own path and hope that it's not a Dead End...

That about sums up how I'm feeling right now... I'll be sure to keep you posted...
It's getting late, I still have to get up and work a lame Saturday shift in the morning...

A few of my soc mates have expressed an interest in venturing out into the PVP lootable areas to do a bit of mining... But their big concern is obviously finding a nice HoF and being looted while trying to extract their claim....or finding players camping out at the claim...

A few days before this topic came up for discussion, I had already thought about finding a few players with good pk'ing skills and gear, just to see if they would be willing to help in the event that my soc mates find a HoF in a lootable area....
Of course if there are other PE Addicts on at the time, we'll do what we can to help protect our fellow Addict... Perhaps a claim of less than 250 peds may not require such measures...

But I thought maybe, just maybe in the event that we want to venture out into a lootable area to mine and one of us found a decent sized claim...
Who could we ask for help?
Do we know anyone willing to protect us? Who can we trust, not loot us?
If we came across such a person(s) what could we offer in return?

And that's where the discussion left off... I trust a few players on my Friend List... I think if it were me that found a HoF in a lootable area and these guys were in game, they'd act as my personal body guard.. In return, They know they could count on me if they ever needed anything.... That, and I'd throw in at least 10% of the TT value I extracted.. Maybe more depending on the size. I can only speak for myself here...

I threw around a few names of the people I'd ask for help... But since the names aren't as well known with some of my soc mates, they had their doubts... that's understandable...I'm not a pk'er by nature... neither are the other PE Addicts.... But if asked, we'd protect you as best as we could... At the very least, we have a few talented crafters if you're looking for textures, clothes, coloring, OA-101(L) amps or high end attachments like OA-104(L)/ OA-105(L) amps and we have a Trader if you need ores/enmatter...We can help you there!
We PE Addicts do enjoy a Beacon Mission!! I'm sure a few of us would love to fill in if you're in need of people to open boxes!!

I know Fade has already started a thread with a similar idea being discussed.... I'm glad I found it and didn't start another one...Perhaps starting a society for this purpose is not necessary... most PK'ers will have other PK'ers on their FL... and a few together could just make a team, and the team could escort the miner out to the claim, well you get the idea... No need to leave your currant society for this purpose.

So yesterday I started off with lvl 36 laser pistol hit and 122hp.

Best way to get HP is for me to hunt with melee weapons. I have enver done this before so this will raise my HP quite fast. This will also increase my strength that is on 10 after over 1 year of playing.

To raise my pistol skills, there are 2 ways of doing it, one way is to get the highest lvl (L) gun I can get and jump to CP and go crazy, or I can get a Breer P4a+A104 and kill combibo.
At this time i thought the cheaper the better since so much peds still go towards my coat (almost done by the way). So P4 it is.
I traded some low end weapons for a P4 with PopFuzz who crafts them now.

While I was at it I decided to pick up a few Lauglin longswords to have something to switch between (Combibo, snables and exa is not realy my favourite mobs to hunt.

I start with exa and snables at fort Argus with the blade to gain a few HP.
At this time I realise that I dont have a full set of pixi or goblin armor, so I added this to the todolist and the hunts got alot more interesting straight away.
Halfway through my second blade I realise that I have gained about 0.5HP!!!
Never thought it would be this fast.
Since I now have looted all the pixiparts that the snables drop I decided to try the combibo instead.
Off to swamp camp it is.
Found a great spawn of them with not to much people around so I start cutting away. Quite soon I hit a nice Über, 1272ped Combibo!!!
All oils but still nice, sold most of it at 102%.
So this gave me about 600ped to buy skills for (remember the 50% of all HOFS go to skills) and I decided to get handgun for the loads so I can get coolness (have heard that this helps alot with HP too), so straight away I jump to about 37.5 laser pistol hit.
Oh, and the Strenght raised to 18 during this short time.

Now it was time to try the P4 so I went to Twin for an Exa hunt. I spend about 100ped ammo and got about 125ped return, some of it with a decent markup (hairspray) so the hunt was about break even for me, but I got loads of skills.

about 500 ped of value vanished of my pedcard ^^

but the good part is..
i'm level 9 material manufacturer now.
thats 1 level away from my first goal.

Also i've been crafting some Oxidiced lysterium texture, pretty fun though and the return wasnt even that bad!
now the art is to get it sold ^^

It's Friday afternoon 4:03pm to be precise...

I'm at work for another hour... hence having an hour to kill....
Work was super slow again today... But my manager was cool and let me take off for a few hours.. Figured there was no sense in having both of us sit around doing nothing... I made good use of that time....:ahh:

I left, stopped at the gas station filled my gas tank, drove through the car wash, brought my laundry to the laundry mat, went home and logged in EU while the clothes were drying, make a few textures, got a 64 ped global on a basic shirt, went back to fold my clothes and went back to work....
Now that my laundry is done, that gives me more time to do as little as possible for the next 3 days!!
I'm sure I can manage to entertain myself hehehe. I do have 3 NetFlix movies to look forward to and we have a Beacon scheduled for Sunday!! A 29 pedder compliments of Neophyte! Should be fun if we can get enough Addicts together on such short notice.

As for the rumors at work... Well there is still something brewing... Still no exact date, or a confirmation that we are getting the Kia line. But from I have heard, The Dodge Franchise is going for sure and we may be relocating and that's where the new Import Franchise is going...
Hmmm.... 35 minutes to go....:rolleyes:

There has been a lot of talk about the new VU and the fact that MA forgot to mention the regen rate of the mobs they nerfed...Not sure I completely believe they'd forget something like that... I imagine before releasing any news about the upcoming VU's that there is a check list to confirm that the certain things were changed/ tweaked/ deleted...
I went to Orthos last night to see just how nerfed the molisks were.... I'm sporting a Gremlin set with plates and a Shriek Back Alley... can't say I noticed a difference... not like the noticable difference with the Atrox and Feffies... As for the Cuadertegus/Cornundos... I can't make any comments just yet... Good God the Atrox Youngs and Matures were easy to kill before the last VU... Since they were nerfed, I go through 300-500 ammo for 1 mob..... that's retarded!! Sure they don't do much damage to me... 1-10 damage with a crit hit of 25-30 on occasion...
At this point, I can't be bothered to go out of my way to hunt them. A shame too... Feffies and Maffoids were one of my favorite mobs... and so are Molisks. I don't fully understand MA's thinking... I know many players have their theories... Honestly, I am not too concerned either way. I'm going to hunt what I can, mine for enmatter, craft textures, piece together a kick ass Ambu Outfit, and spend time with my friends in game... Play at my own pace and not feel like I have to jump on the newest bandwagon. And hope to discover a new item ;)

Well it's just after 4:30 on a Thursday and I'm still at work... If all goes well, I'd like to leave here @ 6pm... Even though we are suppose to be open until 7pm... In all honesty, I think I may have done an hours worth of work all day...Business has been slow for 2 weeks...I'll make good use of my time since the boss is gone for the night... and post in my blog and surf the EF :silly2: That should pass the time nicely.

Speaking of work... There have been "rumors" flying around here... Last time something like this happened, the "rumors" turned out to be true... You have to figure that there is usually a hint of truth behind most rumors... That's how they start after all...

So anyway, here's the gossip...
This Dealership has not been making much money in the last few months... Mostly due to the Sales Dept not being able to sell more than 10 vehicles/month. Service and Parts make money and Sales has managed to get into the negative... I know the owners have been trying to relocate the store to an area with High traffic... As it is now, we are leasing the building from the previous owner and we are in a residential area. A bit tight for space, not much room to park, no chance to expand.
Truth is there is nothing available land wise... Yet... So relocating is not an option.
Dodge being Dodge, they want all of their Dealerships to be "ALPHA" stores... meaning no more single mom & pop Dodge... or Chrysler... or Jeep dealerships.. All must have all 3 lines under 1 roof.

Since we are land locked and don't have the room for Chrysler/Jeep... we either relocate so we can comply or we sell the Dodge Franchise. I guess from the owners' perspective... they were thinking about selling the franchise... And acquiring an import line..... and that import line would be Kia.
From what I know about Kia, they are a sub division of Hyundai... They are price friendly, eco friendly, and offer a great warranty 10/100,000 can't beat that. Our Parts/Service director was trying to organize a massive parts return from our dealership... that kinda tipped my manager off that something is going down! Why else would we be asked to get rid of all parts that have been here for 12 months and NO sales. After further questioning my manager was told NOT to say anything, but he filled me in as to what IS going down.

The Dodge Franchise IS being sold... and KIA will be coming in... He assured me that we will all have jobs.. That's a bonus... My manager, Al is not happy... He claims he's not an import Parts manager and wants to get laid off... Which I don't think will happen... since they are not closing the store and have nowhere to place him...
It will be a learning curve for all of us for sure... but I welcome the challenge!
At this point... this is all a "rumor" and those who know are being asked to keep it to themselves... With that being said...

Everything with a Mopar logo of any type has go.. all parts have to be sent back.. new parts coming in... There will be a ton of work to do once the transition takes place.At this point there isn't a set date... I hope Chad (Service/Parts director) doesn't screw up returning the parts back to Chrysler, like he did during the last buy out... That was a disaster!

Out here we celebrate Labor Day... Which means a 3 day weekend for me :woohoo: I will have Saturday, Sunday and Monday off!!! Most people celebrate by having an end of summer picnic/BBQ, most people close their pools for the season, and I bet it will be a big "Back To School" shopping weekend.
As for me.. I don't have any plans.. I'll have more time to spend in EU... Maybe get to spend some time with James... and get my weekly grocery shopping in along with getting laundry done (since I procrastinated this week) :ahh: Oh and doing as little as possible!!! That's what intend to do!

Other than that... there is nothing more to report...and I managed to waste a whole hour hehehehehe and if all goes well, I'll be leaving in 30 mins :yay:

anyways, bloggywogging time, after getting back from new zealand i went on this lefty youth camp and ran the mothership, somethings started here, what that something is i dont know, whether it means anything i dont know but the point is we showed documentaries every night, and a handful of people were 'enlightened' by it, so much so that they offered to help do something like this again, hence the starting of something.

in other news: third year at Brunel university is about to start and i'm some sort of comittee member of the film society, im a film student btw, and i've got the mission of turning the tiny little club, that only started at the beginning of my first year into something serious, a bit of audience participation here please - anyone got GOOD ideas how to get some sort of film passion rolling in a university of very unartistic, unpassionate people.

It is going quite nicely, I have another disciple and have gotten another 7 or so recruits into the NBK which was nice :) If I get reinstated to colonel I might do a little pruning to get rid of the inactive ones that we don't see anymore as it would be nice to see the soc a little smaller but more closely knit :)

I did some sweating with plummer today but the loot was terrible, roughly around 15-20% return, only because we killed them when dry it was really ofset a bit, but we still lost. I gained a 5 ped snable on the way back though, so it brought up funds a bit, which was pretty cool-Its nice hunting small mobs again, when small loots make a big difference to the hunt ;)

I also designed a T shirt for the competition that is going on, check it out

Many of us know that the latest VU 9.3 was released earlier today... And with all VU's I'm always at work and all of the good/new items are already found by the time I get home. *sigh* I think next VU I'll be calling in sick...

So far from what I've seen here:

*Slither found a new powerfist/claw weapon... looks like Wolverine's claw..
*Molisks health regen had been nerfed... bummer... I'll have to see just how bad once I get home... in 3 hours
*A real world item has been found...still not sure what it is...K.... Kalypso something :headscratch:
* A new X-Fire building in PA along with a contest...
* Oh and 3 new hair styles... So far..

But I'm sure a handful of new things will be looted/discovered before I get home...With every VU we'll see many threads started about how much it sucks... all the new bug... we'll get a mini patch in a few days... oh and a Poll to vote whether you like the new VU/ dislike the new VU/ or vote that you like pie...

But in all honesty, I can only comment on what others have managed to post/share so far.... and from what I see... it looks promising and I really wish my work day would end already so I can get home and log in!!! Apparently I am making some small profit with the occasional 'bonus' when I global(s) on em. ;)

Soc mates are enjoying the discounted OA-103 for 130 peds nett. :D While in average I am selling it for 115.71% (134 peds) in auction. They sell quite fast too!
