MA chat? I'm freaking mad!!

Posted 01-30-2008 at 06:29 by Lykke
I know .. "Get over it" .. but I just can't! Not yet that is.

I was really really thrilled that we got the opportunity for this chat with MA and signed up when Bertha posted about it on EF! I waited for the invitation and was THRILLED when getting it. Immediately after I prepared all my questions for the chat (and I prepared a lot, if I may say so)...

I was all excited about it. We went to my friends mothers funeral at the day and I was exhausted afterwards but kept awake because i just WANTED to be a part of the chat. Also I felt it would be rather shitty to stay away when you was among the people who got the opportunity, and others wanted it as well, but didnt get it ...

VF also prepared his questions and we made sure x-fire was on. I have had x-fire installed for months and didn't see any problems.

The x-fire guy was added as a friend as i was told to - and I read the mail I got several times to make sure I did not miss anything out. In the mail I was told to pm the guy, if anything unusual or nothing happened.

Time went by - lots of people I know and don't know started pm'ing me through x-fire asking when things would happen. There were frustrations and annoyance and a lot got impatient and worried.

Half past 8 danish time - half an hour before the chat should pull off, I pm'ed the x-fire guy to make sure I didnt do anything wrong. 7 min. after I see he deleted me from fl ... I tried adding him again - but nothing happened. I still had my chat open from last time and could chat him again, to ask what happened and why I got deleted - no answer.

I mailed Marco on x-fire to ask what happened and to tell that I hoped it was just a mistake and that I was still waiting for my invitation to the chat log.

In the mean time VF got an invitation but only to the main chatroom with a LOT of angry players who couldn't go into the question room to place their questions - or anything else...

I was angry because at least HE could see what happened in the common chat - but I couldn't do shit!

I was tired enough as it was because of a rough day. That chat was a highlight in the week - but got screwed up nearly as anything else made here!!!

Yes, I'm angry - and maybe also egocentric - but I don't even bother reading the logs with the answers from MA at it is now - and I know it's not the peoples, who got in and had the chance to be a part of it, fault - but yet I'm freaking mad!

I also know it might have been a x-fire problem and that MA tried to deal with it the best they could - but seriously! Will MA in any way try to compensate for all the people who took days off, kept awake all night for this, spend time preparing etc? Or is this just another flunk ...

100% I think you have probably summed up the majority of peoples feelings on this matter. I lost an evening but I know many will have wasted more time on it. I'd suggest an issue is that MA don't realise how popular they are. I know I will probably never try and take part in anything like this again and will warn others not to waste their time too. Thats a very sad state of affairs. When I think about how hard it is for many people to organise this sort of thing normally and get people to actually show up it makes me mad to think MA have it handed to them on a plate. Other companies would pay heavily to generate the kind of enthusiasm MA enjoy and yet they seem to take it for granted. Yes yes I know "ma don't care stfu noob crymore and all that" but I really wish there was some way to slap them from time to time....

They the person who works out how to do that via then net will make millions....

All the best

I feel your frustration. I had the luck of getting into the rooms, but got muted after a while.

I have a feeling that it wouldnt have made a difference if i was 1) mute 2) not mute 3) not in the Q-room at all. It was just messed up regardless.

It was a very buggy experience. It took me ages to get into the rooms properly. I was fortunate to have been invited successfully (twice) to the main chat room as there were issues at first with the initial room.

I even had to reboot the laptop and start again because of it. I could here all the people pinging and popping in and out of the room but the screen was not updating. It was far far too heavy for the lappie.

Finally got in, then got invited to Central Command and then Question rooms. Instantly, started to throw my plethora of questions into the room, all two of them. Unfortunately none of them were put forward. Nevermind.

At the end of the day, it was interesting chat, however, by reading the transcripts, you don't miss ANYTHING WHATSOEVER from the chat other than the remote opportunity to have one some meagre prize.

Really not worth the effort lass, so ja... get over it :P
