Snarkhunting Report
I've completed forty 200ped Snark hunts, and I have yet to find the Uber Snark (or be cool for that matter) but I have been tracking my results.
I started the project on April 19th and finished in late June.
Total Ammo 8000.00ped
Total Repair 1211.02ped
Total LGuns 1362.01ped
Total Cost 10573.03ped
Total Loot 9973.39ped
Net Return -599.64ped
Return Rate 94.33%
Total Snarks killed about 24.5k
The 600ped loss was easily covered by the markup on loot, after all, that is a mere 15ped per run.
My last 3 runs were all bad, with run #38 the worst of all 40, and #40 was quite bad too. It was hard to stop on a losing streak, but I had been targeting 40 runs since about halfway through, as it seemed that should be enough to level things out.
The best run was #1 (with the huge 224ped global) at 479.41ped in loot
The worst was #38, at just 155.45ped
Average loot was around 215ped per run.
I only had two other Snark globals, and one Faucer global, for the whole project. I did some non-project hunting, as well as some mining and crafting, and I did have a few other globals outside the scope of the project
There was a VU (9.3) during run #23. After the VU the was a noticeable change in the drop rate of items, especially Kobald feet and all of the Hunter parts. Overall returns did not seem change, but volatility seemed to increase with 5 of my 6 worst runs coming after the VU along with a number of really good runs.
I am taking an extended break from Snark camping, but I might try 10 more runs in awhile to see what happens. It was interesting to study the cycle of items in loot by killing so many mobs. I also learned a lot about how to sell loot more effectively and capture markup from some unlikely items.
All in all, it was a lot of free skilling, but alas, no Uber Snark
