Thumbs Up Bugs that MA could fix in 1 hour

(EDIT: Ok ok ok... Maybe not precisely 1 hour then... But relatively quickly)

The idea of this post, is to list bugs that should be easy to fix, to help MA improve EU, for the benefit of us all

I'll edit the list in this post, if you come up with more easily fixed bugs. If possible please try to provide the following info, when you post a new bug:
- Bug 'name'
- Trigger (if possible, how do you recreate the bug situation)
- Description
Please post it too, if you notice a bug in the list has been fixed.


BUG LIST

(Bugs are moved from this list to my "Fixed Bugs" post (post #4 atm), as they are fixed.)
2: Bugged trade UI - Occurs if you accept a trade offer, while in Storage/Auction/Terminals etc
5: Mind Force bug after TP - Occurs when MF usage is attempted after TPing, but before the 'white screen' is gone
7: Ammunition stack bug - Occurs when you have small amounts of ammunition multiple stacks. The guns seems to be only able to use ammunition from one stack at a time, even though ammunition is often put in multiple stacks automatically when bought.
10: *UN-FIXED* Sometimes items are places in the bottom of the inventory instead of as usual at the first possible place from the top. Not a big problem , but annoying.
13: Brown paint appears to have too have too high TT value (This COULD be by design, but probably not). If the value had been 7 pec each instead of 70 pecs, it would have fittet nicely into the values of other paints. As it is today, Brown is useless for skilling, due to the high TT price. Could be fixed by reducing TT to 1/10, and multiplying all Brown Paint stack sizes by 10.
14: Auction music volume - The music in auction is attached to the "sound volume" setting rather than the "music volume" setting.
16: Pet shown as a big deed. (Funny bug ) Occurs when you trade a deed to someone, who then get the pet from the stable. The gfx for the pet is only updated for the one who held the deed it seems, and the person who traded the deed will just see a huge deed on the ground. Might be same bug as no. 12.
24: Disappearing letters in chat windows - Occurs when you write multible lines of text and go back up one or more lines, and deletes letters. Seems to be connected to the 'word wrapping' mechanism in the chat windows.
25: Non-stop concentration - Occurs when a MF chip breaks (no longer is usable). Problem persists even if a new MF chip is used.
28: Wrong repair information - In the repair terminal some text are explaining that items minimum condition is 10%, which seems not to be true.
29: Repair % bug - Occurs when using the buttons on the repair slider. The % increases (or decreases) usually with 1% for each click, except in certaing places where the % either stands still for 2 clicks or skip a number. Very weird. The help text % in the repair window is not always the as the % shown in the slider bar itself. More ammusing than an actual problem, but it's still a bug, and should be easy to fix too.
34: Continous movement. Occurs if you are moving while you get killed. When this happens the avatar keeps moving as it were at the moment at death. It's not a big problem, since pressing the key for moving in that same direction again, will make the continous movement stop. However, it should be easy to clear all movement, when an avatar is revived.
40: Screen display text bug. The reference to the text is showed in description in stead of the text.
41: Wall items becomes invicible. Some items that can be put on walls (like paintings and display panels), becomes invisible when you turn them 180 degrees. If the item is dropped while being in this condition, it can't be picked up.
43: Auction scrollbar handing - Clicks on the Scoll bar in auction isn't handled correctly.
When you are in the auction and open lets say refined resources and then click between bar and lowest part nothing happens. If you drag the bar halve way down and click again below the bar on the scrollbar, it works as a page up (instead of page down), same bug (reversed) if you click above the bar.
44: Scanned avatar names - When scanning another avatar, we are now only able to see a part of the avatars name.
45: Worn clothes trading - If you log in while your avatar is wearing some piece(s) of clothes, then remove the worn clothes and attempt to trade them, you get an "Internal Server Error".
46: Avatar stuck - Can be provoked by:
  • Make sure you have a mouse pointer visible
  • Press T
  • Press Y
  • Press TAB (you select the cross)
  • Press Space or Enter (T window closes)
Other things can trigger this annoying bug too.

FIXED BUGS

1: *FIXED* Unstoppable walking - Occurs when you minimize a chat window and move around

3: *FIXED* Unequipable Amps - Occurs when you buy an Amp from auc... You have to relog before it can be equipped

4: *FIXED* Unstoppable sweating - Occurs when you are sweating an animal that is killed before you finish (Not sure about this one as I can't sweat anymore... But it looks like the sweaters sometimes still have this bug)

6: *Still occurs. Removed from the list, since it's not an easy fix*
Team TP invisibility bug - Occurs when a team uses the TP, will sometimes make a team member invisible to other team members

8: *NOT A BUG*
Seems it's a feature. If the team box is clicked, all members can read the team messages again.

Team chat relog bug - Occurs when a team member relogs. Will often make the team chat partial fail, so that the team member can only read team chat, but not write in team chat. (Sometimes starts to work again if another team member enters or leaves the team)

9: *CHANGED*This seems to be by design now, as all stackbles bought in TT, are put in seperate stacks in inventory. The 'old' error description was: "Ammunition bought in the TT is usually split into 2 stacks. Not very important but annoying, since the extra ammo stacks, counts towards inventory total items."

11: *FIXED* Clothes names does no longer include information about which mob it is made from.

12: *FIXED* Coloring/bleaching graphics bug - Occurs when person A sees a the object (the gfx is loaded for A), person B color/bleaches the object (gfx loaded and then updated for B), then person A still sees the old gfx of the object. (Hope that made sense.

15: *FIXED* Name setting (first, nick, last combos) are not saved and must be changed every time you logon, unless you want the default setting.

17:*FIXED*Unclosable mentor/disciple windows (not a big problem, I know) - Occurs when you open the little blue mentor/dicsple window (press 'K', click 'Disciples'), then open the 'disciple list' or the 'mentoring info' (the 'I'), then close the first little blue window, while the big one is still open. This leaves the 2nd window you opened on the screen in a state where you can't close it. Only way to make it go away, is to relog. (Yeah.. I know, this is not important, but it's still a bug)

18:*FIXED*Half inventory window - Occurs if you die while your inventory is open. Looks weird, but is not really important since pressing 'I' fixes the problem.
I think similar things happens too, if you're in storage/auction/trades while dying.

19: *FIXED* "Could not execute" error message - Occurs when the crafting machine have used all the resources in 1 stack, but there are more resources of the same type in another stack.

20: *FIXED* Removing ressources by drag&drop, from crafting machines or refiners, seems not to be working properly... Though you get the ressources back, the machines seems to think that they are still in there somewhere, and can't continue with something new.

21: *FIXED* - Click and hold for ~1 sec to use the right-click FL menu. When RMB is set to activate Aim mode, then the right-click on the FL to send message or rename/remove doesn't work.

22: *FIXED* Friends are shown with FULL name in chat, and are not affected by their personal settings.

23:*FIXED* Text only in the top 1/4 of the chat window, when maximized - Occurs when you maximize chat window and then switch to another channel (for instance 'team', 'soc' or 'All')

26:*FIXED* No money recieved from auction - Occurs when you are in-game while some of your items are bought (maybe only from BO). You get the flashing Auction-Icon and a message about the sale, but you don't see the peds on you CC, until you force an update by adding/removing some pecs/peds or do a relog.

27:*FIXED* Trooper scan CTD - PE client chrashes everytime you try to scan a Trooper.

30: *FIXED*Weird "You can not walk while..." x4 message - Occurs when storing items or when you use a terminal, and you right click on a item to bring up Info screen it says 4 times "You can not walk while storing items". This message also occurs when chatting while in storage/auction/terminals etc.

31:*FIXED* Male/Female mix-up for Vexed Design crafting - Occurs when you craft Vexed Design clothes. If M is chosen, female clothes are made, and vice-versa.

32:*FIXED* The name "Bear Amor thigh-guards (F)" is wrong. It should just be "Bear thigh-guards (F)", but since the 'amor' is misspelled, the devs search function probably missed this one, when they renamed all the armors to not include the word 'armor' anymore. Does this really make it 2 bugs?

33:*FIXED* Trapping AI bug - Occurs when a mob is able to hit it's target, but continues to think it is trapped. It should be an simple task to improve the trapping AI so that whenever a mob is able to carry out it's attack (whether it hits or not), the 'trapped-flag' is cleared.

35:*FIXED* Auction-ESI TT+ bug . Occurs when you sell an ESI on the auction. If you put an ESI up for sale and choose a minimum bid, the "ADD." value (tt+) is shown as if the ESI had a TT value of 1 PED and not as 0. You can see an example here:

Same error is made for the BO value. (See same pic)

36: *FIXED* Octagon PvP bug. Occurs in the octagons on the edges of the PvP area.
It is currently possible to stand in the safe area in the octagons and do dmg to people in the PvP area. This was introduced with the latest VU.
It should be rather simple to ensure that an avatar is either in PvP-mode or not, instead of this weird situation where an avatar can be both.

37: *FIXED* Adding to stacks in full containers. Occurs when a container already holds the max number of items, and you drag items to existing stacks. Then the stack turns green, but the items still don't stack. You have to remove an item from the container, in order to add to an existing stack.

38: *FIXED* Zooming on items. Occurs when you use the zoom feature for *some* items. Appearantly items with big images automatically zooms out quite far, whenever the zoom feature is activated, and after this, they are not able to zoom back in.

39: *FIXED* 2 lasers bug. Occurs when you want to put 2 lasers and a scope on your gun. To do this we now have to add 1 laser first, and the add the scope+laser last. If not, we can only have 1 laser on a gun. Even when this is done, 1 laser 'jumps off' the gun when you relog.

42: *FIXED* Can not use chairs in twin mall. Avatars will walk to the chair, then start to turn for sitting down, but fails to sit and keeps making strange moves while continously failling to sit.

Oh... Didn't know that. Thx for the contribution.

The sweating bug is triggered when then mob dies while you sweat it.. But what triggers the other MF bugs? I'll update the list with this, if you give a bit more info.

Yeah you're right Etopia... Mostly old bugs in the list.
And since they should all be easy to fix, I'm trying to make MA aware that they with very little efford can improve PE considerably.

Did MA tell you those bugs would be easy to fix or do you have the source code ?

Sometimes bugs that seem easy are the most difficult to fix and sometimes bugs that look extreme difficult can be fixed within a minute.

Yes... You're right, sometimes the real cause can be hard to find.
But even if some of these are hard to actually fix, it should be fairly easy to implement workarounds.

Like... For instance a workaround for the walking bug could be: Whenever you press 'run', or 'walk' or <ESC>, all current move states are cleared. etc. etc...

One of my favorite bugs - You can't take an item from inventory and place it in the quick bar if the quick bar is on the bottom of your screen (you have to move the quick bar up in order to place the item in it).

Another one..

If you are TP chipping we all know that you arrive on spot, and is actually able to get attacked, during the "teleportation" (the white screen thing).

If you click on the Mind force thing to make it charge again during the end of the "teleportation" you'r mindforce will be bugged and you will need to relogg..

Fix the teleportation so that when you are on spot you should be able to see the nature not some white screen for seconds. If that is fixed, noone that has to flee urgent from the spot that you arrive on during the first time ones teleporting will have to click on the "charge" button before the teleportation period is over.

I think that's one they actually fixed Works OK for me now anyway - at least the last time I tried it. I'll check next time I log in just in case they broke it again.
