VU 9.1 Bug Rollup

Hi all,

In preperation for the VU 9.1 release going live I'm creating this thread for all to list their bugs that they find. Of course, your primary action is to report all the bugs you find directly to Entropia Universe support. This thread will serve merely as an information portal to everyone to ensure many others don't fall into similar traps or issues.

I will try and maintain a summary within this first post...but hopefully it won't be too long

Maybe it would be worth making this a sticky for the early period of 9.1.

VU 9.1 Bugs/Issues list

Fixed/Dropped Issues

• Component BPs are not exhibiting their normal variant colourings (old bug) - Closed - Dropped {Not an issue}
• Nebu says the VU is bug free, closed...oh and he's not dutch! - Closed - Fixed
• Bruud is dutch! w00t - Closed - Fixed

Critical Issues

• Lag is affecting many aspects of EU. The damage, movement and looting lag is now worse than pre-VU - Open - Critical
• Participants are unable to log into Entropia Universe due to the CLDLLPatcher.exe application being pattern matched with a Trojan by AVG Virus Software - Open - Critical

Severe Issues

• Pilots are unable to fly back from CND despite having unrestricted access to their hanger(s) - Open - Severe
• Some participants are experiencing crashes when logging into Entropia Universe - Open - Severe
• Some participants are experiencing loss of items after a crash, where several relogs are required to get the items back - Open - Severe
• Vista users are experience DEP issues and EU is forced to shut down by Vista - Open - Severe
• Due to lag issues, it seems, flying mobs and mobs that have pole vaulted fall through the ground and become un-lootable - Open - Severe
• Some participants are experiencing connection dropout issues - Open - Severe
• Estate item points are bugged - Open - Severe
• Some participants are experiencing crashes to desktop when switching between aim modes - Open - Sever
• Some participants are unable to fly from CND with Pilots who are able to make the Journey. They get left behind. - Open - Severe

Major Issues

• Participants are experiencing issues with various camera modes when selecting self, causing a ctd - Open - Major
• Participants are experience a reduced rate of skill gain when performing Surveying actions - Open - Major
• Some participants are experiencing an issue with teleporting where they get stuck at their destination, relog and find themself back at their original location - Open - Major
• When suffering from lag, mobs can hit from a long distance away - Open - Major
• Water sounds remain even after leaving the body of water - Open - Major
• Some participants are experience crashes when using the TT - Open - Major
• Some participants are experience a loss of key mapping icons after repairing an item - Open - Major
• Some participants are experiencing a loss of Land Areas on their maps - Open - Major
• Some participants are experiencing a lockout with "Avatar already logged in" message - Open - Major
• Loot balancing for Animal Hides is causing issues for reasonable length hunts - Open - Major
• Participants are unable to disassemble attachement assemblies when items are not carried - Open - Major
• Participants on occasion become invisible after teleporting - Open - Major
• Certain stackable quantities are not reporting correct value when inspecting the information window - Open - Major

Minor Issues

• Login procedure will require retyping both username and password each time - Open - Minor
• Avatar hair disappears when equipping the Santa hat (or others too?) - Open - Minor
• Chat is experiencing lag - Open - Minor
• For some, society channel is disabled in error (sounds like old bug - try relogs) - Open - Minor
• Some participants are having problems with minimised chat windows, where they are having to scroll to the most recent communication on maximisation - Open - Minor
• Male Jolly Christmas Hats are appearing in the Femal Hat section of the Auctions - Open - Minor
• Clicking on the exit button from the skills screen (assumed with 3rd person controls in options) moves the avatar to the hit point on the ground behind where the exit button was - Open - Minor
• Some participants are experiencing missing textures on their clothing - Open - Minor
• Participants are unable to sell the Female Jolly Christmas Mittens - Open - Minor
• Participants are unable to use the Numpad Enter key to submit the entered security code in order to log in - Open - Minor

Below are a number of things you can try in order to fix your ailments.

• Ensure your firewall is not blocking or is allowing the Entropia.exe file and the ClientLoader.exe file
• For random crashes, try deleting the Entropia cache files within the Application installation
• For connection dropouts, try reducing your network connection speed to half that of your actual connection
• If experiencing random crashes, try disabling sounds and reduce visual quality and guage if there is any difference

Although i have posted this already i feel it is relevant here too. Now i also know that this is not technically a bug but.... Now the moving login on this vu will mean that every re log will require re typing of username and password . Not good in my oppinion . Certainly not an improvement .

i downloaded it with ~500-600 but failed to install it the first 3 times.. now its installed and im just hitting F5 repeatedly

It may not be a comfort improvement, but it is a security improvement.

I don't think it falls under either camp, it's a visual improvement only as far as I'm concerned. I hope they add cacheing of the username however, as this will make the process a little more comfortable in the future.

If they fix so that you will never CTD or get logged out, this wont be much of an issue now will it?(as if )
