MA's inspiration sources..

Ahem, most humbly, I can't help but have to .. regurgitate? at times to some of the designed items/concepts I see in EU. I must admit, it's getting better, apparently they sacked or sent the more mentally fruity designers elsewhere..

Anyways, this thread is a tribute to, or means of understanding, the inexplicable and hitherto unnoticed sources of Mindarks designer(s).

I start with what I found, you can add as you see fit. Please don't just leave a comment, if you add anything to this thread, please do so with an image and an explanation. I will personally neg rep anyone who just gives a comment without adding a new "source". I urge all readers to neg rep in the same manner, to keep this thread clean and on subject.

Most of the placenames are from ancient greece. Really, Jason was a greek hero, Pandora (from pandora's box), Atlantis, troy. I don't think there are many settlements that aren't inspired by greek mythology btw.

Also:
- combibo -> Stegosauria (not stegosaur
- armax bull -> triceratops
- armax cow -> Euoplocephalus
...

Oh, and armors come from fairy tails:
the gnomes, pixies, gremlins, ghouls (servant of a vampire), ghosts, shadows, angels,...

So Basicly EU is based on dinosaurs, greek mythology and fantasy. Don't know about you but these 3 things where cool things when I was little. Maybe this explains why so many 20-40 year old people play EU and not much younger ones? Or it may just be some of the childhood fascinations of the storywriters ofcourse.

well this last VU was 110% inspired by a combo of The sims, Second life and this crap.

Personnally I thought the design for the new shadow armour may have come from a fan of Stargate SG-1 and the Kull Warriors Armours



ok looks like he has that EWE EP-41 Military Built in to the suit and he has one on each arm as well
