In light of the significantly increased time we now spend dead, will it not be a logical continuation to increase total war to encompass the final 5+x mins of the event to compensate for this?

A interesting question.

There are still benefits with keeping the 5 min time of total war, for example the event reminder that there is 5 minutes left of the event. Good indicator that few miss.

Also I hinted in end of last season that I was looking for ways to make it harder to max out on bonus points and this might be the way.

Still, the coming events will be closely watched with this question in mind to see if the change of death time will have impact on Total War
