Is it possible to profit from crafting?

As the title says.

many have told me their sad stories of attempts to start crafting.
Tamn tried to start his own crafting thread but it went so bad that he went broke very fast, being a non-depositor. All the threads here are about what can you loot from which bp/how much you lose on something etc...
So here is the question, is it actually profitable? Do you earn something or is it really just a slot machine?

i lost half my ped crafting a few days ago (150) and that's normal

well I have no idea. But a friend of mine did just get to use lvl 5 BP's and after that he have been doing some really nice profit so I guess u have to get some skills before even think about profiting

unless u get hofs all the time

You shouldn't attach your own opinions to the poll options. It just makes the poll useless.

For instance, it's not possible to vote 'yes' without crafting own materials or do it constantly.

"is crafting profitable?". this question makes no sense, imo.

there are:
- profitable BPs and unprofitable BPs
- skilled crafters and unskilled crafters
- proper market conditions and unproper market conditions
- right business strategies and wrong business strategies

the good crafter profits by combining all the above.

I craft P5a's and profit from it. But its not like I'm making millions...

Noob crafting is of course not profitable. You have to invest in skills and good blueprints.

It is perfectly possible to make steady profit from crafting, but as every profession in this game the majority will not.

Then please read Vedders post for a perfect example of (one of the things) that is wrong with this kind of poll.
