you can buy starting BPs from the technician NPC. If you don't find the BP you want there, try auction. All BPs can also be gained during the crafting-process.
If you get BP to 100.0 quality rating, it only means you have a higher chance of success on this BP compared to a 0.0 QR. Also, the higher your skill, the more chance of success. (Chance of success means the chance to actually craft the item from the BP) The end result for quantity or condition is generally the same. The easiest way to global/hof is spend at least 10 to 100 times the amount you want in your global, for example 5000 ped for a 50 ped global, although this is not guaranteed. |

The usual way of starting to craft is either:
1. Start off with the cheapest one you can find that has SIB. e.g. Basic Servo, or one of the cheaper textures. This will give you your skills fastest. 2. Chip in the skills you need to start crafting what you want to craft at a higher level. This is probably cheaper in the long run, but assumes you know what you want to craft. Do not expect to: A. Make a profit B. Break even C. Make a small loss Expect a 70% return over a longer period. Quote:

För example crafting something that costs 10 PED. Crafting on quantity you may get 7 successful attempts out of 20 giving you about 10 PED each success and a total of around 70 PED: Crafting on condition you may only get 1 success out of 20 attempts but it may be worth around 70 PED and thus give you a global. In the long run your average return should be the same. |

First of all you need to decide which BP you want to use. I'm not going to get in to the discussion regarding profit and stuff just yet.
There's three kind of BPs in existence. Unlimited BPs some with SIB (Skill Increase Bonus) some without and then there's Limited BPs, all with SIB and the special feature that they act like a BP with a QR (Quality Rating) of 100.0, which is the maximum. Note that limited BPs only last for a limited amount of clicks. As with everything else, skill plays a big role. An unlimited BP without SIB, will be usable by all, but maximum COS (Chance Of Success) will first be achieved at level 100, in the relevant profession, and when QR 100.0 is reached. An unlimited BP with SIB will require you to have reached a certain level to be able to use it and after a certain amount of levels, usually 5, it will be maxed skill wise, though you will still need to reach QR 100.0 to get the maximum COS. A limited BP will act like the above except it that it by definition is QR 100.0 and that it can only be used a limited number of times, thus, if you have reached a high enough level in the relevant profession, you will achieve a maximum COS. Regarding the looting of BPs there isn't really much to say. Regular unlimited BP is looted by crafting, in the right category that is. You can't loot weapon BPs while crafting furniture, though apparently it does matter what you're crafting as certain BPs seem to only drop while using specific BPs. It should also be noted that usually you don't loot BPs with a higher level than +4 of the level you're crafting at, thus if you're crafting using a level I BP, you can only hope to loot a level V BP. Also, I've never looted limited BP while crafting at level I and would suspect that it's more or less impossible. Quantity vs. Condition is a discussion that will never end. In theory the result should be the same in the long run as long as only TT value is considered, thus if you're crafting something utterly worthless, it could be a good idea to craft on condition as you'd receive a lot more residue, which can be sold with a profit, and if you're crafting something valuable, you want to craft on quantity. In reality I can only recommend crafting on quantity. There has been some evidence that QR raises faster on condition, but even if it's true I believe it to be insignificant. My final recommendation is to either don't do it or to have a plan and a lot of money, preferably we are talking 5 digits or more, which few to ask these questions have. I wish you luck. |

Full quantity means average 1X tt value of the click back, maximum of 40% success rate.
Full condition means 7X tt value back, but at 1/8th the success rate of full quantity. (notice the math, crafting will slowly and surely destroy you in the long run.) The key, as mentioned above, is the tt value per click. The higher it is, the more likely you are to global. At ~8 ped per click, you are guaranteed a global on any success at full quantity, which is why there are so many globals on oa 101's. However, what wasn't mentioned yet was bankroll management. Each bp has a cost per click, and if you want to just get a global, you want to plan for around 1k clicks. Imho, the bare minimum would be 50 pec per click, like cotton striped fabric texture. However, it's much easier to global once you get to ~1 ped per click (simple 1 conductors or jester d-1's.) Also, if you buy bp's with 0 qr, I would advise clicking full quantity until it is 20 qr, then switch to full condition. It is about half the success rate up to 20 qr. |

Never start crafting on condition with only 20 attempts! Its most likely a 100% loss = 0 success! Surely you may try your luck with only a few clicks, but that means all or nothing! Who likes it, do it but not a smart way to craft! |

Very interesting topic, thanks everyone
![]() To add to it, there are some beliefs (... opened to endless debates ...) that the place where you craft also has an impact (Myrene, Oxford, ...) ![]() Regarding the quantity vs quality, you can play both at the same time. I tend to start with the maximum COS, but then if it fails more than 3-5 times, I shift the cursor to the right for some tries. On equipment blueprints lvl 1 till 4, I seldom lost big using that tactic (but I also stop when the losses start to accumulate). And if I had to start at 0 skill again, I'd definetely chip in skills till I unlock Blueprint Comprehension, that one is a sweet skill to have (higher COS on bps with QR 1 to 99) |
