Effect of machinery skill

Can somone explain to me what the effects of machinery are?
Is it for better CoS, better TT return or maybe both or something else?

There's enough info about engineering, manufacture X and BPC skill, but this one seems a little forgotten.

Dont know what It does, but It surely wont hurt your crafting...lol anyway, you get machiery also when scanning bots, If that helps someone explain what It actually does in regard to crafting...

Machinery skills are a great way to break even after a long losing streak. Simply put them on an implant and list for 50,000-60,000% on the auction.

That is all the use I have found for them.

I was hoping for actual effects in crafting results, but this sounds good too

it must have some effect and like some1 said it cant hurt your crafing...

Hello,

Even if no one knows (or is telling) what the effects are we can presume one effect is that your prof standing and skill unlocks will be possatively effected.

Anything that works on averages of skills will be possatively effected.

You get them while crafting so I guess they help, but no idea how much. Only real way to tell would be to chip them and see the difference, but I'm not buying one and certainly not chipping out my 2k

Ahh... Another informative post in the crafting thread.

To sum up:
We don't know what it does but if the average of it and two other skills we don't know anything about bump your profession up to level 10 then you unlock a fourth, hidden, skill that we also know nothing about.

Me crafter. Me no understand words or numbers. Me click big button until glowing sparkles say me do good thing.

[The above commentary is critical of MA and how they don't feel the need to provide any information on the most basic aspects of their game. It in no way comments on crafters or their apparent need to post replies in which they essentially say they don't know the answer (myself included)]

Well, I look at it like this:

First, you need to be smart. Smart enough to be able to design an experiment in such a way as it will provide you with useful data. In our case, useful data is data that will lead you to the most efficient of two choices for performing a task in this game.

Second, you need time, effort, and PED's. You spend hours recording outcomes and data and more outcomes and data and more outcomes and data. Then you modify your initial conditions. Then you spend hours recording outcomes and data and outcomes and data and outcomes and data.

Finally, you correlate all of this data into a hypothesis and you spend time, effort, and PED's to test it. After testing several hypothesis, you find one which provides you with a small edge.

You go out, buy champagne, drink and party until next week, and settle down to the business of putting this small edge (that cost you weeks of time and thousands of PED's discovering) to work for you. Things are going pretty good for a month or so and you finally manage to recoup your expenses and are now going into the black at last!

Do you:

A) Make a post on Entropia Forum telling everyone for free how to do it?

B) Keep it to yourself and make a little scratch for yourself before MA changes the rules again?

Honestly, most of the experiments have been done. Most of the knowledge is out there. It is just highly compartmentalized and normally only shared among tightly knit groups of Ubers that jealously hide these secrets. Some scraps get tossed out once in a while, but normally only things that a clever NooB accidentally figured out and already posted once.

I spent a small fortune figuring out the basics of the loot system, and after a few months MA announces they are tweeking it. I spent again to figure out the tweeks.

This game involves real cash, and no one is going to give you the tools that will enable you to take their cash away. If you want everyone to know the answers, do the research yourself and then post it for all to see. But don't bust on the rest of us for keeping what we paid a high price for private.

Well nowdays seems better. At time when i started (old MA forum ) it was litle harder.
But metods were same:
Dont ask without using search function first if not you will be dream it for months after.
Dont ask because you will be LOLed by those who maybe knows and those who dont know answers both groups waiting for new wictim on forum.
Dont ask if u dont want hard lesson on RCE, "its not a game", ...
Dont ask because your question can be renamed in whining.
