Yeah, I suppose they might suspect, but I figured there must be a load of people who do this, and as I was by PA TP when it happened, it would be difficult for anyone to tell if the guides were on or not unless they ran over to check right after or before adding me.. I had to keep a lot of stuff back to ensure it wasnt too obvious...

It's gonna be hard to keep reporting without giving much away - talking about the society in future articles will be the hardest!

Would it not have been better to finish the experiment first, then post your findings?

This way, at least your mentor cannot be tipped off, and act different to what he normally would.. or anyone else.

Excellent story, interesting about the "mentor" whom I assume that you have decided not to name and shame. I had a very similar experience which is the reason that I started my thread in noobs corner. I had fortunately already browsed through Alice's guide and remembered the bit at the start about mentors. If somebody gave you the link to the guide early on then hopefully you will have done the same as me and given the guy the boot!

Interestingly enough, this thread made me realise that I've still got the guy who took me as disciple on my friends list. Since my first night (about 7 weeks ago) he has been online when I have precisely once when the only bit of advice he offered me was that the TT fap was crap lol! I would guess that he hadn't even realised that I've given the boot!

Keep it up Pinky, looking forward to the next installment!

Nice to read I guess you are right in that there is more help out there these days than in the old days... but also a lot more scam ... In the old days people just didn't care that much but it was also safer I would say ..

This is a good idea Pinky but the only issue I see so far is that by announcing your intentions there are more people apt to help noobs than there were before. Having 2 people essentially give gifts is very uncommon in my experience. Especially in the first 2 days. I have been playing for 2 years and only recieved 1 gift. The best I have recieved other than that was paying TT for a few other items.
