Awesome thread Pinky, I love your style.

The adventures of "pinky in disguise" might be made into a movie by our new found friends at CKI

Like everyone else I'm really keen to see how things work out. Once the experiment is completed I would love to see one complete thread as a continuous story, maybe set up as a downloadable eBook. It would add a new level of learning if components of guides were slotted in showing how the guide would have helped in the situation. That way the guides will be put into context and into a nice storyline. Then more new players would take the time to read them.

Since I began playing I have introduced 30+ of my gamer co- workers etc to the EU universe, and there is no shortage of SWEAT LORDS hounding the Arrival area ready and willing to enslave new players into their SWEAT empire... teaching them that hunting and mining will get them nowhere and holding down the sale rates on sweat... we have people teaching the new players but they are not teach8ing them the right things- and in a universe that relies on new player to keep the economy thriving, it would seem that we loose a lot of new players as for the very reasons you mention, and others that could be good leaders but are contrarily driving new people away after they have completed their 18th hour of sweating and received a 5 ped reward....
I am concerned...

Hi,

I joined EU three days ago. So my experience is quite fresh and really DIFFERENT from yours.

first - I was given some advices by Emma and the other guy, but no one told me, where to go and what to do, so first two hours I was aimlessly wondering around PA and surrounding areas just staring at newly discovered world without any idea what is going on aroud me.

second - I wasn't given any items, even now after three days (about 15 hours of playing) nobody has given me anything including my mentor (who is really good I think, giving me a lot of her time and many many important advices)

third - I was farmed the second day. I found my mentor on EF, then we met ingame. While talking about me becoming her disciple, mentor dialog appeared and I, thinking it is her, accepted. Really funny - it was some motherfu*CENSORED* walking around who just saw noob talking with obviously experienced player and farmed me. Then gone not answering PM.


so you can see now, that being a real noob can be actually much more stressing ... but well ... exciting too

The very first day I made it to Nea's place, because someone adviced me that's a good place for sweating. Can you imagine what an adventure was that getting there the first day of playing?
I will never forget that journey. I met some other noob in wilderness and, in the middle of jurassic-like monsters with no weapons or armor, we united immediately. Fortunately he had FAP at least, so we ran together for a while, trying to avoid bandits and other mob. I made it to Nea's in the end, while he was stuck at some revival station not be able to get through monsters.
He sent me message another day that finally he made it too :-)

so, it can be hard being a noob, but you can have adventures, that are probably no likely to happen when you are experineced

does sound like you have had it hard for your first couple of days. Getting trapped will happen a lot, why not pm me on the forum, we can meet up and you can add me. This way when you get stuck, if I am online you can just give me a shout and I will come give you a hand

Great thread, going to make sure I keep up to date with it and hopefully pick up a few tips along the way. Luckily so far in my short time here I've not had any major horror moments, a few minor ones to be sure but so far so good
