Nice report, really shows the fate of todays noobs.
Good mentors are hard to come by nowadays, tbh good disciples also. Heard a lot of stories about "professional" disciples, so not giving the disciple something the first three days is normal. As for no one in you soc telling you to kick your mentor, maybe you did not talk much about him ? Normally noobs all talk about their mentors and what he does or not. As for the "finishing within 6 weeks"....that was a joke, right ? With 10 quid and "playing" noob thus not knowing where the spots to mine are, is quite impossible. Needed 2 months of hardcore grinding to finish and without depositing several times i would still need another 3-4 months. Would be nice to know how the life of noob was 5 years ago ![]() |

It's a great thing that Pinky stuck to her total n00b rule as far as knowledge gained prior is concerned. It proves that with a little care it's possible to have some fun and still not end up broke if you deposit a little (or maybe if you don't and take more time sweating).
It must be awfully hard not to use stuff you already know...especially when given wrong info. Walking the wrong path against your experience just to stick to your own rules can't be easy at all. Worth it, and showing to be so now though. ![]() My money is still on a newbie HOF t |

What are the actual requirements to be a Mentor? (I figure Obsessive Compulsive will be a good one, I've been averaging 20 hours per day up until the Cogent spat.) This would be MY "Day 4" if not for THEM.
![]() 'Rotten' and I started within a few days of each other (after I got help setting up my computer, rather heavy it is) and are already dividing in tactics. He is planning on getting a sword and I have already put over 2000 rounds of ammo through my pistol. I sweat until I can afford 500 - 700 rounds and then go burn through that, repair, rinse, repeat. Maybe try to walk off a couple of TP points between. I've got at least two people that I can probably persuade to try it. What do I need before I qualify? I love this (and related) thread(s). ![]() |
