The Entropian billboards in towns was mentioned as tests on the advertisement systems for one, so my guess is that billboards will be atleast one of possibly several different styles..

I feel that Generally the Lag is not too bad. High Density areas/ports or like the last Land Grab are mostly the areas/times.

IF there is enough money thrown in through ads. They they could beef up their servers. There is always going to be some kind of lag, but that could be unavoidable depending on people connection and the Internet jumps data has to take.

few things here for me.

1. YAY!! more loot!!

3. I am waiting on seeing coupons/rl items pop up in loot windows more often now. With advertisers on board how hard would it be to drop an item into a loot window with a link to a URL to claim it?

5. Alot of possibilities could be opening up for Rl items. For example.. Mindark makes enough revenue to start offering even MORE to the players. In this case it MAY be a trip to Sweden to visit the MA headquarters. But the raffle/prize would be looted in game, linked to a raffle/prize center with a unique code tied to ONLY your avatar.(PE gold card security would also be a good way of claiming these prizes/raffles.) Maybe U-kash jumped on board... now when you see a global it MIGHT have a u-kash voucher number or something. Just an extreme example but who knows.. it could be possible.

for me personally.. i tune out alot of advertisements.. but the occasional few catch my eye (thats what adverts are for). So I will likely ignore most ads.. unless they start rolling around dinner time for Mcdonalds and Pizza, those might cause me to log off and look for some food.

I dont know what you think about it but I dont see much profit which will make our loot siginficant better. If MA gets, like other company's, 1 to 2 US-$
per player which has enabled the add system it will not have a hugh effect on individual loot but I agree MA may uses it to again push ATH's to the next Step - maybe in 3 month no ATH under 100K will be in ATH list.


I know you all would love to see such big ATH's as they are not drawn from the loot pool and everyone will still have good loot because of massive bringing such hughe amount of money to MA....


Ranting off

I dont think that the looting will be significantly better when we have the massive adds in game.
Why?
First I think not 100% of the money massive pays MA goes into loot pool, part of it will fill also MA's pocket.
Second I think MA will deduct the operating costs for the Add system and maybe also the cost for the development from the money they get from massive.
Third from the rest - again only my thinking - MA will take a part for new ATH's lets say 35% and the rest will be used to make individual loot for the players who enabled the adds.

So if massive trusts MA and pay for the 400K players 1 to 2 US-$ it would be a nice sum but I think Massive will have a agreement which is more like Internet Banner ads payment where they pay a fraction of a cent for each individual looking at a comercial so that the actual number of players which are logged in and have ads enabled will get MA money from massive.

I may be wrong but I dont see more than maybe 5% better loots for us and 5% I think is alreaday a high percentage.

What does MA think when Microschrot buys Massive Inc.? First Micro$oft sued MA for using not licenced software and now Microsoft will do commercials trough MA?
