Project-Entropia namechange ?

MindArk has registered new domains

It has come to my attention that MindArk, makers of Project-Entropia, has recently registered 3 new domain names, the domain names was registered March 21st 2006.

Two of the new domains has already been redirected to project-entropia.com.

The domains are...

http://www.entropiauniverse.com
http://www.entropia-universe.com

The third is http://www.theentropiauniverse.com which at the time of this writting still hasnt been redirected to project-entropia.com

So, will project-entropia change name to entropia-universe ?
If so, will there be other changes ?

Hmm Project Entropia sounds good, I don't see why they should change.

i think the name change is for the good. the 'project' name implies that the game is someone's experiment.

This is true.

However, whats the chances that they're just registering those domains to protect themselves for the future? I mean someone else could register those names and there could be a bit of a conflict...

It might very well just be as part of a marketing campaign where the word "universe" plays a major role.

Like the gowing pupolarity of e.g. banks having campaign domains like "www.highinterestrates.com" or car dealers having websites like "www.buythiscarnow.com".

It's a smart thing to do in order to cover as many words associated by the campaign as possible.

I agree, if they take as many as possible "Project Entropia typos", add a "www." and a ".com" and then it will redirect you to the PE site, it will be just to the better... id hate the name to change now...

Name change?

Would be better to have a development team change, a team that impliments some of the good idea's from people who actually play their game.
A team that implements changes NOT just for changes sake (ie the dome near PA).
A team that would make use of the resources already used on their servers (ie those useless little buildings that do nothing).
A team that "fleshes out" the world they already have.
A development team that has an idea about the economy they have developed and not just create price crashes within that economy (ie mining, sweat).
A team with ideas on the forefront of their minds instead of...well you know where their fingers usually are.
A team that would DO SOMETHING about the plague of scammers that are preying upon the lifeblood of their game instead of hiding behind their beaurocracy.

good job you registered this domain a while back MB - if MA carry on registering every domain with entropia in it there wont be any decent ones left for community sites
