With the opening of the new city on Calypso, New Oxford City Of Culture, we have some, if not exclusive news, then atleast we are the first to announce it.

Marco Behrmann has already given you all some teasers of the new city by posting a link to an article in the Swedish newspaper "Realtid", the link can be found in this thread, the article is in Swedish but a translation by Skam can be found inside the thread.

Mr. Carl Uggla, Director Of Special Projects and responsible for marketing at MindArk PE AB has kindly sent me some more information about New Oxford, most of it you already know, but we do have some good news for you all, being able to buy Real Life Clothing aswell as virtually inside Entropia-Universe, designed by two famous british Designers, Adam Thorpe and Joe Hunter of Vexed Generation , the clothing for sale in Entropia-Universe may be different than their current collections, but who wouldnt like a NinjaHood outfit for their Avatar and a matching outfit in real life.

In their shop you can buy as well virtual clothes as clothes for delivery on Earth.Adam and Joe, who lecture at St. Martins in London and at London University, will also give a series of lectures in our Fashion & Design Institute.

As New Oxford grows we plan to add a Film School, a Music School and other interesting schools and venues.We are already in negotiation with a couple of museums and record companies so who knows what will open next in our wonderful city.

How can crafters (tailors) on Calypso compete with 'professionals' that seemingly will have access to the code?

perhaps a good solution would be to have the Vexed ingame clothing be introduced at tailoring BP's instead? But I suppose the point is to have a individual corperation inside the game, just as Ernst Billgren with selling his paintings.

yeh kinda of a bad idea introducing these tailorers who wont fail once because ll the other tailorers will lose out on alot of money so i think its quite a stupid idea.
and whats with these schools and stuff. what a load of cr#p why would we want to learn how to paint?
i could understand the lecture but schools wtf?

sounds good, can't wait to see it, as for the lectures, it will be good to hear from well known people about various topics, not all of us have access to that kind of thing in our own backyard

Ummm... There must be some places on the map I've missed.

Personally, I'm waiting for the last two ingredients of my proposed performance art piece to be added to the PE universe, namely, a paper bag and a doorstep. Then I, too, shall become an Artiste.

Seriously, what good do clothing items crafted by players become in a world with retail establishments and the like? You know bloody well that MA will never allow these commercial endeavors any chance to fail at crafting items. How many PEDs do I have to pay in to the GAME to become that perfect?

Is MA really trying to create a better experience for us, or simply chasing dollars wherever they can scoop them up?

In some ways this bites on so many levels... I see good friends of mine like ETO, skull and lady wolf really getting hurt from this if its not done carefully... maybe even if done carefully it will ruin them

Even Sarah that worked to get black paint, might suffer since I can see them now making clothes in black paint with out regard to skills


it might be good for buyers , but I can't see any good for crafter’s
