it was horrible every were you moved die die at revival and there was loads of kill stealing going on lol i saw a couple of noobs come to go to auction then i just saw dead and dead so i ran to revival got my self killed ran mob away from them and they went was cool though but alot of decay and ammo wasted

What are you talking about? The Forum Admin knew about what? And you were helping who? And why are you annoyed?

I wasn't there, didn't get online this weekend, except for about 30 mins and I'm up on CND. I to think its a shame that MA can't make up the storyline, but leave kids alone long enough and they find a way to amuse themselves.

Great story Jimmy. I guess some people here would rather see the "Entropia Website Updated" news until MA gets around to releasing more bland press releases. Thank goodness for a little bit of imagination.

OK, thought I'd let the dust settle before responding to all the replies.

Firstly, many thanks to all of you for your comments here and in reps. Its always nice to know that people have enjoyed reading what you've written.

Some points I think are worth addressing:

(i) Comments that Feffoid attack on Fury was not newsworthy.

Sorry, but I disagreee. It was an 'event' that was drawing lots of people to Fury to take a look at what was going on or to kill a load of big feffs. There were multiple threads about it being started at EF and there were lots of people chattering about it in EU. It was newsworthy.

(ii) Opinions that the background behind the news story shouldn't have been fictionalized.

Well, that's more a matter of personal preference. I think, or at least intended, for the fictional parts of the story to be fairly obviously fictional. I find it hard to believe that anyone who read as far as the voting terminal joke could possibly have thought I was reporting an official MA storyline.

OK, for sure a few people who've only been around a few weeks might have been confused by the whole thing. But reading the responses in the thread will have cleared that up pretty quick.

(iii) Suggestion that EF's credibility has somehow been damaged by the article.

Sorry I don't buy into that at all.

Yes, perhaps the style of the article was more tabloid than broadsheet. But sometimes people want tabloid. I had fun writing it, people had fun reading it. That was my main aim.

And even whilst having some fun we can still be making a point too. Whilst I tend to take up a more pro-MA stance than the average, I don't think they're faultless either. I think a lot of people would like to see more events like this, and with better storylines attached to them. I'm shocked they never finished the Egg story, and I'm disappointed that Feffs have been attacking Fury with no storyline attached. It doesn't take particularly long, nor is it particularly hard to knock up a few words to go with an event that is taking place. Part of the point behind the way I wrote the article was to suggest to MA that (i) quite a lot of their customers would like to see more storylines and (ii) that its not hard, or particularly time-consuming, to do. I'd quite like a little pop-up window on log-in with little storylines and news articles, then when I log-in I get "HEADLINE NEWS: Feffoids attack Fury!" followed by a little story or perhaps "HEADLINE NEWS: After 28 years gestation, Unique Green Atrox Egg spawns giant atrox-feffoid cross-breed. CND overrun by Feffatrox Stalkers!"

I will continue to praise MA where I think they deserve it. I will continue to criticise them where I think they don't and to make suggestions as to how they could improve. However, I'll do it my own way, sometimes a subtle suggestion works better than a "FFS MA WTF "

(iv) What is attack on Fury all for?

As quite a few people have pointed out, it seems quite likely that the whole business at Fury is stress-testing for the upcoming land grab.

If so, I'm glad MA have chosen to do this, after the problems last year it would have been foolhardy to just run the next land grab without any testing. I still think they could have run a little storyline to go with the feffs but I'm also still glad it all happened - (a) that they're testing things out & trying to improve the servers capabilities is good, (b) that the next land grab is on the way is good, (c) and finally, well it was all quite good fun
