That could be totally true. I just want a source when an apparent statement of fact is given. He may be 100% right. I just like data sources to peruse before believing a statement hook, line & sinker. Like when the tobacco companies funded all those studies that said cigarette smoking is not harmful. Take it at face value or review the study and find that all the top tobacco companies funded the study. Not hard to see how the study concluded what it did that way.

Thanks ND for making things clear in my thread.
To all those whiners who lost too much money: It is only your fault. I see ourselves as the first colonists who came to America when it was discovered.The beginning is always hard but soon EU will make a big step forward and we are the lucky ones who already know how this universe works and have the opportunity to make our deals when the new CE2 and Asia players come.They cant learn in weeks what some of us learned in years. I hope for the best and believe.

Opportunity awaits here and on the new planets

space pirates has been the most anticipated event up to date since its announcement, along with the implementation of cryengine2 in 2007, it is expected to come in later june 2008, or it could be after that month. That i knew since

its going to be massive due to its $5M bounty, worth of items and PEDs, GET READY THERE LADDIES, AHOY!!

NEVERDIE, you have to forgive my remarks, im only making a statement...he would not be as popular and as rich as he is now in the gaming community if it wasnt for his lucky copper brass ballz that the asteroid had a buyout and he managed to buy it before hurricane wilma; although some rich people were reluctant to buy it at that prize,and he also had the advantage that he didnt have that many competitors, after all, most of those 700k+ users are either dropouts or cant afford such a prize, but for the few that are rich they could have outdone ND and someone would have claimed his position. not quitting and believing is not enough of an advice, you have to keep in mind that average people like me that struggle everyday to make a living and not some are as lucky as you are. I only represent the avg joes, BY ANY MEANS I DONT INTENT TO OFFEND YOU IN ANYWAY ND, I HAVE READ YOUR PROFILES AND I KNEW YOU WERE AN ICONIC AVATAR IN THE PRE-ASTEROID TIMES, SO YOU HAVE MY RESPECTS.

Ohmigawd, I loved that!

First, I LOVE the two blonde booth babes. I ran into them in person in Los Angeles at E for All in Oct 2007 and followed them back to the Entropia where some dude grabbed me out of my lustful trance and told me about this game with a Real Cash Economy. The rest was history... but man those chicks were HOT.

I love how they have to stand there as a backdrop to that whole interview, occasionally nodding their heads and seeming genuinely interested when they're probably thinking what a bunch of dweebs we all are.

I do genuinely love ND's energy. I must admit that I think his advice to believe that you can earn a living in a virtual world and to never quit trying is a one way ticket to the poor house, but then maybe that's why I slave away at a job for an average living and he has become a millionaire playing games.

I also love the fact that interview was done by a woman (I'm not sexist, I just tend to find gaming to be a predominantly male thing... most of the people at E for All were guys) and that she threw in some comment about porn being a very popular online source of entertainment in addition to games.

Spot on.. not quitting and beleiving is definatly not enough if you are not able to invest.
Investment has got most of the big names where they are in EU today.. not, not quitting and believing is a key factor but most would call it passion.
A lot of players in EU have that passion but for many, it will never get them where so many of the big names are today.
Investment would but families and home life come first and always will...

I was struggling everyday to make a living myself before I bought the Asteroid, lol.

okay, little background might be helpful..

I arrived in miami in November 2001 (after 9/11). I was broke and had nowhere to Live, Definately No savings, I had my son who was staying with grandparents, A friend Put me up in an office building, in return for a promise to cut him in on my next screenplay if I could get a movie made.

I got a $5k commision to write a Script that carried me through Dec and Jan 2002... I forgot to mention I had about 30k in Debts, Car and Credit cards.

I promised myself if i pulled off another Deal, first thing i would do is buy a house...

In March 2002, Joe my Long time Business partner Pulled in some deals to Finance the distribution of some of My Unreleased Low budget Movies...

I put 5% deposit on a house in the Design District in miami ($9k usd) Remarkably even with my crappy credit I got the House... (albiet with painful interest rates and Prepayment penalties)

Tina, myself and Taliesin moved in to the house in April or may 2002... Pretty amazing, coz I had hit rockbottom only a few months before...

I spent the rest of 2002 getting all the movies onto DVD and producing Hey DJ! (another low budget Gem)

At the begining of 2003 I launched the DVD label and Struggled to make sales... I did manage to score #1 with one of my titles on Amazon.com, but it was hand to mouth... I also realized HEy DJ! was not up to par and had to continue re-shooting and Re-shooting to try to make it work.. (recruited lots of big name DJ's) But to say I was struggling would be an understatement.

End of 2003 Tina almost Dies in a Freak flu complication.
2004 Still struggling to make HEY DJ! into a hit. The DVD label is Floundering. Highlight of the Year is some Euro investors finance a re-shoot of the movie in Ibiza and more Famous DJ's get on board. (Ferry Corsten, Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Junior Jack etc) Also Tina is doing a little better and her Song To The Club becomes an international Club Hit!..
But none of this is producing income... I do a little Re-fi on my House to get out of Debt since the House market in USA is Booming.

I also Decide to Sell all NEVERDIE's Hunting Gear to try to buy Treasure Island so i can turn it into a NightClub.

End of 2004 I Lose the Treasure island Auction and Also Tina is Doing very poorly..

Begining of 2005, Im completely Broke, living on credit Cards. HEY DJ will be released later in the year in Holland and Belgium but unlikely to make any money. Tina passes Away...

I was about to rent my house out and live in the Cottage when Tina Died, but that isnt practical for me and Taliesin, So I stay in the House and Start selling all my stuff to keep paying the mortgage, even sold an IMP MKII to pay the mortgage once..

The one good thing financially is the House market is booming and I realize my house has more than Doubled in value since I bought it... All i have to do is Survive long enough to Sell it, but I cant survive that long so i do a Re-Fi instead and take out a Big Chunk!...

meanwhile I have been selling all my stuff on ebay and searching for Change at the bottom of Drawers to buy food... I have more Cash on NEVERDIE at this time than i do in Reality.

After the Re-Fi I'm plan on selling the house and Buying a Condo on South beach, I even put Down a Deposit, but Since I have no income i change my mind, also Hurrikane Katrina Hit New orleans and i get paranoid about the US economy, so I Decide to Invest all my money into Land Areas in EU, coz I need the income......

I am bidding on the Land Above Memorial Island When the Asteroid is placed in auction....

and the Rest is history...

In the End I didnt have to sell my House (even though I tried) Because after CND launched i could now pay the mortgage...

Since then CND has proved to Be a great Success as have my other Land Areas on Calypso... I Thank God I bought them.........I thank God I believed in this game and didnt Quit. ( I could have after losing TI and Tina)

Now Things are good, I married Cheri london and have a beautiful daughter Sheba to go with my wonderful Son Taliesin. We Moved to Hollywood to continue the Assault on the Entertainment industry... My living expenses have Skyrocketed and Im not resting on my Rock, but doing my best to take things to the next level... making Music, creating Events, Developing Movies, buying my uber gear back....

I could be Debt free if I ducked out of the front line and lived simply, but I really want to give my all to Blow this Game into the big Time and NEVERDIE with it!

Finally Make My Big Hollywood Bluckbuster...

Ive always loved RPG's, played them since I was a Kid...
For me this is the Ultimate... I know it aint easy! it wasn't for me...

Some Subcultures take a while to develop before they hit the mainstream...

I BELIEVE Entropia Universe is Gonna go the Distance. And I'm gonna do my utmost to make that a reality...

This is My story... Timing is everything... I had to wait till the time was right for me, i was 39 when i bought CND, my greatest Success and I feel I earned it, payed for with Blood, sweat, tears and belief in this game.

... Just reading through this, I realize that being a Gamer saved my Ass... if you stay on top of the media , there a big shift going on. Games generate more revenue than movies and Music... Everyone is talking about the future of Virtual Worlds etc, etc...

Well EU was the first RCE MMOU and I think we are living what alot of People keep looking for in other platforms..Yes MA need to add more systems for it to support a truly diverse market that can potentialy support the masses, but the Fundementals are here.

Crytek is Extremely Important as is Space and the partner planets... OFC the outcome is not Guaranteed, but In my opinion were moving forward...

More than Ever I want EU to succeed since this is where I make my living and I have my family and my Dreams to support.
