What to do if PE crashes shortly after login

This was what I posted in most of the threads started by people that were having this problem, so I thought I would make a new thread about it... maybe a sticky MB? Would help alot of people

If you are having problems starting the game, where it starts to load up then immediately crashes and goes back to the desktop, try these steps:

1. Open your main PE Directory (Default C:\Program Files\MindArk\Project Entropia).

2. Locate the file(s) with the extension of .CFG (File name(s) will be that of the account login name).

3. Delete the .CFG file(s) (Don't worry, it wont hurt anything, you will only lose your keybindings and settings, as they will be back to the default).

4. Start PE again. If you can get into the game, congratulations it is fixed!

The reason for this is that after a while, and for some unknown reason, the .CFG files will become corrupt and will cause PE to crash shortly after logging in. Deleting these files will reset them to the default values so you can get into PE. You will then need to set your keybindings and settings again, but that is pretty easy.

Best thing to do is to reset them to default, then go ingame and set your settings and keybindings, log out, then make a backup copy of the good .CFG files. I do not know if it will work when a new VU is released, but redoing your settings and such really isnt hard.

EDIT: Some say that doing this is against the EULA, but it actually is not. It affects the game in absolutely no way, other than your local settings. Also, it actually does fix most problems.
