Heh, I do that sometimes and when I do I usually get a claim, I have had someone do it to me and I thought it wasn't a big deal actually-

My very first time I did this...I found a claim of nexus and the marker probe thing showed up in the water. And of course...I didn't know what I was looking for anyway...but I don't think you can get it if it lands in the water...

Unless someone has any ideas? But I took the coast of Treasure Island literally and was right next to the water when I did my search ooooooops.

you cannot place bombs under water (well, deeper water), but you can extract the claim regardless of its depth in water, at least i managed to get all my underwater claims

does anyone have any advise on how much PED you need to try out the mining. I just started hunting and it is fun and all, but I wanna try mining too. How much do I need to get me started to get the equipment and some bombs just to try it out?
Are we talking about 100PED or 1,000PED?

hm

a useful hunting run should be around 20-50-100 bombs or probes

if you just try with 10 you can be unlucky, 50 or even 100 would even it more out most likely, and you can also try different locations

the finder and excavator should be available for 5 ped or so.
