I suppose he must have sold the Grem and bought full Rascal and a gun, since he was shooting Atrax SW of Orthos last week.

Well, I ran into anaviat swampcamp once who said sorta the same thing. He had a very large global he wanted to extract, but he was fairly new and had no ammo.
I followed him out to the claim marker and and shot up the mobs while he extracted the oil. He even wore out his TT driller. I loaned him mine, and he finished the job, and offered me some of the find, which I turned down because I hit two small globals while protecting him.

So, this is not necessarily a scam.

The Difference is

1) Asked to GET A GUN - didnt even had a claim to extract
2) Asked for help/Bodyguard

I would always help in situation 2!

(Because when I was new same happend to me, got a claim surrounded by Atrox and was very happy when someone was coming along to shoot them!)

Great topic!!

I hope that people read this, especially noobs. Furthermore I hope people don't get 'inspiration' from this and invent their one scams :S
It ruins the gameplay experience.

My nickname is usually Maddox, but if that one is taken I take madhoax, sounds almost the same. And lately I've been using Madhoax a lot, so that will be my new nick I think, nothing to do with hoaxes (.....or does it? muhahaha lol )

Hi all, for the 83th post on this thread, i only said my comment about a scam, and i got a -rep from Mega, i would like him to provide me with a tangible reason! Or at least someone should explain to me what did i do wrong

I'm really pissed off right now, and hate free -reps, without even giving any reason but a "

" smiley

This may be better to discuss with the person in question via PM, since it's a personal issue between you two?

I don't want to be a nag here - but I humbly ask you to keep this thread as clear and clean from off topic as possible - simply since it's meant to be a info thread where scams can be posted as soon as they pop up. It's for everyone's benefit, and in everyone's interest (but the scammers) - so I hope you can see the reason why it's essential to keep it easy to read. Please respect that.

Yup. There is a BIG difference here.
Anytime someone wants to borrow from you, it should set off scam alarm,unless you know the person, personally.
