We on Calypso have few causes to fight for other than PED and profit. Those of us brought here from a background of combat yearn for the glory days of repelling countless foes. Well for those who like to fight, the time has come. May 25th (Sunday) at 19:00 sees the mighty battle of the 300 Spartans at the Hot Gates re-enacted on Entropian soil.... and you can take part! The Venue: Eudoria's very own Hot Gates ![]() We aim to defend this ground. Click to enlarge As you can see, there is a high-sided canyon that leads to the Healing Pond area North East of Orthos West Mound TP. The end of this canyon is at 8033, 14193. This is where the bold shall make their stand. Who shall take part? The Spartans: These should be our finest. A full team of 12 of the best equipped and skilled fighters to apply. These 12 will form a line across the end of the canyon and not give an inch against whatever comes through the mist. The Arcadians: This is everyone loyal to the Spartan cause, those who wish to fight but lack the skills or gear to join the upper ranks. These will include Marber-owners who can bolster the defence from sniping positions, and anyone with a gun, FAP or intention to assist. Vs The Immortals/The Horde: These will attempt to destroy the line of defence by tagging or alerting mobs into larger mob-trains then dragging them through the canyon. As most will know, the area west of the canyon provides Feffoids and Araneatrox as well as many other mobs further out. Who's Horde and who's Immortal? It all depends on what you're dragging ![]() The Hunchbacks: These will be those loyal to the Horde who wish to disrupt the Spartans with a surprise attack to the rear or flanks, using the Armax, Atrox and Gokibusagi to be found to the East. "I can't drag a spider they'll just kill me"... yes you can. Buy a decoy gun, go out with a few friends and then say you can't drag a Spider, or any other big mob (Not every time but enough)The Aim: For the Spartans/Arcadians; to hold off the onslaught and not give up their ground for the duration. For the Horde/Immortals/Hunchbacks; To kill the Spartans/Arcadians with Mobs. Prizes: Hard to award anything accurately here, but here goes; the guys running the Mob-Trains will be at the front of them as they come at us, so will be easy enough to tell who's bringing us the good stuff.... there will be a collection from all the Fighters to be given to those who gave us a challenge ![]() I hereby make the first donation: Gremlin Feet (M), Full TT As you know, Mob-Trains can be dangerous and I advise all to practise a little ![]() The idea is that the Runners collect as many nasties as they can in the canyon before the start.... then run them all at us at once. Glad to hear of any interest in this one ![]() Sign Up HERE: Complete THE FOLLOWING; I, (Insert name here), dine in hell regularly. I never surrender. I'm there on May 25th, I will be with the SPARTANS/ARCADIANS-IMMORTALS/HORDE (use which one you choose) ...and I'll remind anyone put off by the prospect of dragging Spiders; there will be a few others there too, and Feffs can be gathered really easily into a train of 50 or more.... which is exactly the sort of thing that could do serious damage to the defenders. All you gotta do is run towards the line of Spartans and carry on through; the Mobs will explode on the front line ![]() Tagging/Herding Tips: If running (feffs example), try to spot the point where the mob notices you and starts after you... heading off for the next one as soon as this happens can save you a lot of incidental armour damage ![]() Use a long-range or cheap weapon to tag as many as you can, run back if you outrun the stragglers, zig-zag to keep them together. If you get swamped and die, tp or run back and run around the bunch to tag/grab them again. A cheap grenade launcher is a good thing to have for this. Fapping while running heals less but can save you in a bind. Remember, those who make the effort should get their reward; but don't blow loads of PED for nothing. Decoys and Spiders: Spiders below Alpha; Tag or get the Spider's attention by straying near to it... then run like mad in the direction of your choice, dropping decoys one after the other. If you hear it scowl ("Whiiiissssss!!!") it's stopped for one, you can also see this in your radar or visually if you run on reverse view. You might be able to run outside it's visual range and tag it/attract it again, or it may notice you when the decoy runs out and start after you again. Repeat the above. Spiders Alpha and Above; Tag, drop decoys as fast as you can, run like f@ck. Hurrikane Last edited by Hurrikane; 05-06-2008 at 22:15. |
