Well I bought myself in for Saturday's qualifier event. But figured I'd throw in a few globals to kick off the entries for the 5-day comp.
55 PED Maffoid Champion 67 PED Maffoid Hunter ---- Off-topic late-night ramble: Teamed up with a WPS team-mate after those and she went off to do WPS stuff whilst I carried on here. I was hoping to emulate you guys last night and get a 5-figure Maffoid with a WPS team name ![]() Didn't happen, but had quite an interesting conversation with my WPS team-mate. Basically neither of us hunt any of these new fast regeneration mobs (except for events in my case) as we have no idea what the best way to hunt them is. With old-style mobs the 'kill them as cheaply as you can strategy' seems the logical approach. But this is normally about reducing armor and fap decay. With the fast regen mobs you logically go for high damage per sec L weps (to reduce the amount it regenerates). But that costs a load of markup and then there's the theory (with some evidence in favour of it) that if you do more damage to the mob, it gives you proportionally more loot so the markup is apparently wasted. In which case its better to use lower damage, low markup weps. Obviously if you have mod merc or something its not an issue. But what do reckon otherwise for L-based day-to-day skilling purposes - cheaper, slower guns because mob regeneration isn't bad, or expensive faster guns to reduce regeneration and cost of kill? From limited experience so far I'm favouring slow, cheaper guns. But I kind of feel its a bit unnatural as logically you'd think its better to kill it as cheap as possible (whereas seems to me its actually better to do damage as cheap as possible). |
