Do you think you have what it takes to be the best miner in Entropia Universe?

So how do the event work?
Well, this is not a "single day" event, as we all know some days are good and some days are bad - so we wouldent get a fair estimate from one day of mining.. This is a 1 month event starting from NOW. You can sign up when you want, but the sooner the better.

What you have to do is to go to:
www.portalentropia.com/mining/ and create a miner account.

Then you login to Entropia Universe in windowed mode..
You then go to "Start new session" on the site and start loggin your claims.
Please also select if you use amp, and if so, which amp.

The site can then based on your logs show you your ROI (Return on investment).. If you find a 2 PED claim on 1 bomb. Your ROI is 2. If you find 38272 PED minerals from 39932 bombs your ROI is: 0.95842....

For every 0.01 ROI we will multiply your total amount of bombs dropped.
In the case above the score would be: 95 * 39932 = 3.793.540

Another example:

10 PED minerals from 3 bombs.. ROI = 3.3333
333 * 3 = 999

Yet another:
20000 PED minerals from 1 bomb.. ROI = 20000.00
2000000 * 1 = 2.000.000

So as you see.. The person who dropped a few bombs but got a nice return got 999 points... The guy who got a rather large claim on one bombs.. got 2.000.000 points.. but the guy who dropped loads of bombs.. and did fairly well on all the bombs got the highest score of 3.793.540 points...

So this contest isent about who can get the bigegst hof in the shortest periode of time.. this is a contest of who is the BEST overall miner.. who can continue to do profit.. It is clear that HoF's and large deposits helps.. but hey.. shouldent they

Please note the public score will be made avalible from the site asap.

Also.. Amp decay will be entered in the equation.. Excavator and finder decay will NOT be taken into the equation.

A contest is a great way to get people interested in populating your database. +rep!

I do, however, have a problem with your ranking system (I know, if you don't like it, don't play). Basically, you're rewarding not the BEST miner, but the most PROLIFIC one. First you divide income by bombs to get ROI. Then you truncate the ROI and multiply it by bombs again to get the score. That means your score is about equal to your income in PEC.

I would suggest two options:
1) make it clearer that you're rewarding the "most prolific miner"
2) use ROI to determine the "most efficient miner". Of course, to determine an accurate ROI you'd have to account for the fact that probes are 1/2 the cost of bombs, and you'd also have to account for decay. If a noob can generate the same amount of income with the same amount of probes/bombs with his TT finder as uber-dude can with his 215(L) with 105 amps, then the noob is more efficient.

Since option #1 is simpler, and your actual goal is to get as much data as you can, I'd go with that one.

Oh, and are you offering any prizes other than the title?

yeah.. I understand your point.. but the thing is.. we cant just say ROI.. since that would be fairly large if you drop 3 bombs.. and find a small on each 3.. we want to reward the title to a miner who has a large ROI.. and drops a lot of bombs...
