Events in LA/OA that is owned by other ppl

Ive been reading in the forums and i came of a link that said that it was illegal to host events on others property... And stuff like that...

So can someone plz clear up the mess in my head?

No I believe the owner of an area can chose whether to allow other people to set up events or not.

If you can set up an event you'll be able to do it at the land marker (be sure to choose the right rules - eg. highest single loot). There are some fees involved for setting up the event that should be shown at the land marker.

I tried going to TI to check this... and i went to the big land marker but i couldnt find the event section...

Do you guy know where it is?

If you right-click the land marker and select "Operate" a little menu screen should pop up. If I remember rightly the Events button on it is on the top-right and is a picture of a running man! The land may well not be set up for events though.

But does it cost anything for LA owner for someone to host a event?

Dont they just earn on the hunting fees?

Have you contacted the Landowner? That would at least be the polite thing to do. That info is also on the land marker.

thats because Land owner set it to NON public. However if it is set to PUBLIC everyone can create event there.

I am not a land owner myself, so what I am about to write is just an observation, and not necessarily 100% correct.

The Land Owner does not pay anything when someone sets up an event on their land (unless they are the ones setting the event), but an event can have a big effect on their revenues.

When an event starts in a land area, anyone that hasn't registered for the event will be teleported outside the area. This will then mean a drop in the revenue for the land owner, unless your event is successful enough to draw in more hunters than are kicked out.

For the owners of big or popular land areas, the chances of you attracting more hunters than you evict with your event is small, so there is little reason for them to allow people to create events whenever they want. I would expect this issue to concern Treasure Island more than any other area - as TI City and TI North are both inside the land area, would an event evict all the apartment owners and pilots? If so, Deathifier would not be too popular the day after.

For owners of smaller or less visited areas, an event may be a good way to advertise their land as well as earning increased revenues during the event itself. Therefore they often leave public event creation turned on and may even offer you some advice or help with the event if you approach them beforehand.
