THE LEAGUE

OK, I've given you all a week off to recover from the new year. Now its back to business!!!

The League has just got bigger and better, giving a wider range of prizes that has ever been seen before! This will test you all!
I am running this event as an independant project, and with the support of generous land owners and willing players, it will surely become the greatest event for all who take part.
I plan for this event to run for the whole of 2007, so get your teeth stuck in!

Scoring begins now until the end of January 31st 23.59 for this month and then beyond....

January has a monthly prize pool of 8,000 PEDS

So what is The League?

This competition is for both miners and hunters. The monthly prize pool for January is 8,000 PEDS. The Prizepool will be distributed to the top 7 scoring players plus a random prize for everybody who scores at least 5% of the winners score.

There is also an annual league....every point you score gets added to your annual league total without any end of month reductions. The person who scores the most during 2007 will recieve a prize of estimated value of 10,000 peds and be crowned "The League Champion" for 2007!!!

Each screenshot submitted will boost your score and hopefully increase your rank in the league. Every day I will browse the newly added screenshots and update the league accordingly, The scoreboard will then be posted both in this forum for you to view and on a special made website for "The League 2007" which will be online as soon as we start.
This process should be completed between 19.00 - 22.00ma time every day.
Each individual hunting entry will be limited to 1000 points so if you were to get a 1880 PED hof you will only score 1000 points. All other globals/hofs upto 1000 PEDS is scored as a point per PED ie, 89PED = 89 points and so on. Teams have a limit of 250 points per global/hof, and mining has a limit of 500 points per global/hof.
Please submit your entries within 48 hours of the global or HOF and also make sure the time and location is displayed in your screenshot (press C+P).

The Annual League

The annual league is a long term incentive to become "The Champion" of 2007. All your points submitted into the monthly leagues will be automatically added to you annual score without any reductions at the end of each month. So come the end of 2007 "The League" will have a Champion!
As a further incentive and challenge to all contestants should you score at least 1 global on each featured land during that month you will recieve 2000 extra points to your annual league total! The prize of being the Champion is estimated as a value of 10,000 PEDS

The event locations

This event will take place on Longu, Ambu, Exa, Allo and Phasm lands.

Teams

Teams are allowed to enter providing the following rules are followed:

1. Your team name must remain exactly the same throughout this event.

2. Every screenshot has to be taken and posted by the same person of that team.

Your team can consist of as many players as you want and whatever players you want providing the 2 rules above are followed. For example, should I make a team named "Xenocracy" I can recruit any players I want, the team members do not have to remain the same from one day to the next but for all team "Xenocracy" screenshots submitted they must be taken and posted by me.
Also please note that the maximum points each team global/hof can score is limited to 250 points.

Prize distribution

The competition has a monthly prize pool which will be distributed depending on rank, plus 1 random prize for all players who have scored at least 5% of the winners score.

1st = 2320 PED
2nd = 1470 PED
3rd = 880 PED
4th = 750 PED
5th = 650 PED
6th = 530 PED
7th = 400 PED

Plus Random Prize = 1000 PED - The random prize will be selected from all contestants who have submitted a global/hof during the month and have a monthly score of 5% or more of the months winner, this will be picked via the modulo method using the euro millions lottery numbers the next draw after month finish. Each point scored is a chance to win the random prize, so the higher your score the more chance you have to win. Everybody is included who has 5% or more of the winners score..including the winner! As this prize has been taken out of the ranking prizes it is only fair they have the chance to also win it.

Point reductions at the end of each month

At the end of each month the players who rank the highest and win the prizes will have thier points reduced for the following month thereby giving all other contestants a head start on them for the next month as they will retain all thier points. This will give the higher skilled players something to chase whilst giving the rest of The League something to protect. For example, the player finishing first during January will have his/her points reduced to 0 for the start of February...and so on as below. All non prize winners carry ALL thier points onto the next month

Points deductions will be as follows

1st = 100%
2nd = 100%
3rd = 100%
4th = 90%
5th = 80%
6th = 70%
7th = 60%

This event looks like fun, and with the points reduction even someone hunting on exa land could win.

I'm assuming there is one prize that is given to one random winner. (Winner is random, not the price.)

And would it be possible to update your post/the picture with mob maturity and tax %? (Or provide a link to a site that has all the info.)

So can anyone buy #1 win the extra 1000 PED? I mean can #7 score both 7th place + take the random price giving him a total of 1400 PED (assuming he had the 5% required points of the 1st place)?

Yes, the way the scoring is set out does promote all levels of players to compete, as all the prize winners each month have thier points reduced all non winners keep theirs, giving them a head start each month. As this event is planned to run all of 2007 this is a valuable asset to all low-mid level players

So yes, it is possible that first place could also win the random prize...making 3320 PED. But also for example position 25th could win it (providing they have 5% of the winners score).

I'll also update the tax and mob maturity for each land...thanks for requesting this.

This event was a blast last year! Glad to see it continuing.
I'm a big fan of the "everyone has a shot" events. And this one sure fits the bill.

Congratulations to the participating landowners on getting the imo best contest-manager on calypso onboard and hosting this great long-time event!

Perfect Rules for all level of players, the daily updated leaderboard and the good communication is sure an lot of work, but makes it really exciting for us and keeps us going.

Real life will probably prevent me from heading for one of the higher ranks this month, but can always try to get enough points for the random prize

This is a great comp. I will definitely be involved. Pity I got my Ambu global yesterday.

But all the same Westy is in. Even nooby players like me have a chance for 6th or 7th with the leaders getting reset.
