Welcome to the Cross Country race of the YEAR!!!

Event: Footrace across country from Port Atlantis to Troy

Date: Wednesday 24th January 2007

Time: 0900 MA Time

Location: Biolab at Port Atlantis



The aim of this event is for some nOObies to have some fun and hopefully win a prize. The race will be open to all players who think they belong there. I want this to be a fun event but I understand the trip may be quite difficult for some players. All participating players will be given the cords to the TP at Troy prior to the start of the race.

There will be prizes for for the first 10 places!!!! Hopefully more depending on support. I will post the list of prizes closer to the start date.

Rules will be simple.

1. All players will register on the night with one of the organisers, just line up and private chat the organiser. All entrants will be required to join one of the Race teams Lead by officials. All players are to be registered by 0850 MA time.

2. No teleport chips. I will have officials at random intervals to keep an eye on things. I will be making the run myself to check approximate timing. This will help to ensure a fair race.

3. The first player to reach the TP at Troy without being killed or pressing T will be the winner. There will be a finish line made from sweat bottles. Just run across the finish line and private chat me. In the event of all entrants being killed during the event the winner will be the first player to reach Troy.

4. As an extra challange, the first person to reach spiral mountain will also win a prize. Just take a screenshot clearly showing your location including your name, positon and MA time and post in this thread within 24 hours.

5. Once all officials have agreed on the winners list all prizes will be handed out.

6. All prizes will be given out on the day (except the Spiral mountain challange prize). The winners list including the prize received and the kind donor of the prize will be posted here within 24 hours.

Hi, i would love to run if i am still N00b enough. You will need to safeguard against a "revive" hop also.

Maybe set up checkpoints along the way to check in at. Could also consider some treasure hunting, with clues maybe. Just a few ideas, should be fun.

Bad time, All Europeans are gone (Sleeping, Work, School...)

Also, You need to run all the way? Can you use Revival Map? If not, How do you prevent people "Accidentally" getting killed by mobs on right places?

Nice idea, and I would love to help out, but I too will be at work during the event. You may wish to consider moving the event to a weekend as most players would have more free time to attend then.

nice idea, which came to my mind too before. but, the distance from PA to troy is quite large and there are many ways and techniques (dying or T'ing to reach some waypoints faster etc), so it is nearly impossible to spectate all possible routes and avoid cheating... imagine someone collected troy before, just runs a bit outside PA, returns to the mall tp or so and tp's to east scylla or so ... IMO choose a shorter route which can be controlled better, like ares -> aegis, scylla -> twins or so anyways gl with the event and may it be a fair contest
