Lootto Raffle Terminated

I HAVE TO ANNOUNCE WITH A DEEP REGRET THAT THE LOOTTO RAFFLE WAS TERMINATED AS FROM 16.9.2007

On Friday, 14 September 2007 I have received an e-mail from MindArk PE AB (major part of which is reproduced below) alleging that the LOOTTO Raffle is against the Swedish Law and that therefore I have to terminate my enterprise or face permanent ban from Entropia Universe.

As you would surely understand, facing this harsh ultimatum I had little choice but comply (as I want to continue be part of the Entropia Universe experience).

I would like to thank all of you who believed in and supported Lootto Raffle, especially to Mr Brown and all the participants who took part in the previous 5 draws.

The to-date accumulated JACKPOT 2178 PED will not be retained by me, but will form a base of (much larger) prize pool for my new upcoming game, which will be announced in the following few months.

E-MAIL FROM MINDARK (QUOTATION OF THE MAIN PART)

... 'MindArk value and encourage new ideas and activities in Entropia universe. They must however be in compliance with Swedish and International Law.

We have forwarded your objections to our Legal Department, which have concluded that your LOOTTO activity within the Entropia Universe is unfortunately in breach of Swedish Law and in particular the Swedish Lottery Act. According to paragraph 1 of the Swedish Lottery Act, which governs your participation in Entropia (EULA paragraph 11), even small scale raffles are considered to be an illegal lottery if they are organized for the purpose of profit making and the organizer has not obtained a permit from Swedish Authorities ...

hmm to bad.
Funky that the "Svenska Spel" (Swedish Lottery Comission) havent had a little talk about gambling as in EU with Mindark themself. This due to other contries classing EU as a online casino. Swedish gambling enforcement has always been just and have banned alot of games/lottery that a considered legal in other contries. There is also the question about where the actual server is located. I belive that MA will use any countries laws to their advantage if the "Empire" is under attack. The main reason why I belive they shoot u down is because it could bring bad publicity.

Overall I think MA should fight more for the participants right against the real world
